Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Meet Shirley — a gentle soul with the sweetest little “woo woos” you’ve ever heard. Shirley was found abandoned at a local park alongside her sister, Laverne, and is now discovering what safety, comfort, and love truly feel like in her foster home. Though naturally shy at first, Shirley is making wonderful progress every day. With the help of her two canine foster siblings, she’s slowly building confidence and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Watching Shirley come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding. She has proven to be housebroken and will walk right by her foster parent's side on a loose leash. While we don’t know exactly what breeds make up Shirley and her sister, one thing is certain: they both have adorable personalities and love to “talk” with tiny woo woos when they’re happy or excited. Shirley is looking for a patient, loving home that will continue helping her blossom at her own pace. In return, she’ll give you a lifetime of quiet companionship, sweet expressions, and those irresistible little happy sounds that are sure to melt your heart. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
I found Mamma and Baby Bear in front of a fast food chain, sleeping by the door. The workers told me they had been abandoned and dumped two weeks prior and sleeping against the door. The workers fed and gave them water, but nobody came to claim them. The dogs were so hot in the Texas heat and the little one was looking pretty skinny. They were afraid of people and the owners didn't want them. I sat on the curb with them, feeding them hamburgers and water, and eventually coaxed them into my car and brought them home to sleep on the pillows, eat some dinner, and get all cleaned up. The mamma has definitely lived in a house and knows how to shake and enjoys a soft blanket. Baby Bear is a lot more shy. Baby Bear might be about 6 months old, I can't tell. Mamma Bear has to be at least 3-4 years old. They are black mouth cur mixes, so big dogs, fully grown is about 60-65lbs. I already have two black mouth cur mixes at home and cannot have four dogs or I'd keep them.

Story
I found Marina while I was helping a friend move out of a room they were renting in a house. The landlord had abandoned her and two other dogs to their fate in the backyard. Fortunately the other two dogs were taken by my friend’s mother. Marina is a very friendly, if a little timid dog. She has lived an abused and sheltered life, but with a little encouragement has taken to new experiences in stride. She craves affection from those she loves and with the correct training she will be an amazing and energetic family pet.My boyfriend and I adore her, however we aren’t ready for a dog.

Story
She was abandoned at the Johnny Steele Dog Park on 5/14/26. After having her for several days, we see that she is socialized and is comfortable/familiar with being in a home.Observations: *She gets along very well with our 2yr old dog. Likes to play ALOT. No food aggression. *She is sweet with all of us (10 year old son and adults). *Seems to do well with other kids and people, does sometimes growl at other dogs. *Minimal accidents in the house. *Knows the sit, down, and paw commands. She does not seem to know "no!". *Sleeps well in a crate. *Does not appear to have any health issues (May 19 vaccine appt). Eats and drinks regularly and poop looks normal. *Not skittish or shows signs of abuse. *Medium sized, likely 35lbs.
