Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Meet Shirley — a gentle soul with the sweetest little “woo woos” you’ve ever heard. Shirley was found abandoned at a local park alongside her sister, Laverne, and is now discovering what safety, comfort, and love truly feel like in her foster home. Though naturally shy at first, Shirley is making wonderful progress every day. With the help of her two canine foster siblings, she’s slowly building confidence and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Watching Shirley come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding. She has proven to be housebroken and will walk right by her foster parent's side on a loose leash. While we don’t know exactly what breeds make up Shirley and her sister, one thing is certain: they both have adorable personalities and love to “talk” with tiny woo woos when they’re happy or excited. Shirley is looking for a patient, loving home that will continue helping her blossom at her own pace. In return, she’ll give you a lifetime of quiet companionship, sweet expressions, and those irresistible little happy sounds that are sure to melt your heart. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
Meet Breezy (aka Momma) Breezy is a 3-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix with the gentlest soul and the quietest strength. She was heartbreakingly thrown from a car with her puppies on a freezing night — but despite everything she endured, she protected her babies and is now safe, healing, and ready for a forever home of her own. Breezy is just beginning to understand what it means to relax. In a loving foster home, she’s learning that soft beds, gentle voices, and kindness are things she gets to have, too. She’s incredibly devoted to her puppies and has the sweetest, most nurturing heart. When meeting new people — especially men — Breezy is shy and may try to hide at first. Her timidness suggests she didn’t always know safety in her past. But give her patience and softness, and she blossoms. Once she trusts you, her goofy little personality comes out and she absolutely melts for attention. Breezy has an old leg injury that healed improperly, so she gets around comfortably on three legs. It doesn’t stop her from living her life. Because she’s sensitive and easily startled, Breezy would thrive in a quieter home with older children or no children. A calm, predictable environment will help her continue building confidence. She has not been the type to charge towards 'danger' or bark at new people in the home, but I would still encourage a more settled environment. She can also be trusted out in the home and has not attempted to chew on anything that wasn't hers. Breezy is currently in foster care, learning what love feels like — but she’s ready for a home that’s truly hers. She doesn’t need much. Just patience, gentleness, and someone who will show her that the hard part of her story is over. Could you be the safe place Breezy has always deserved?July 20, 2026, 1:35 pm

Story
Draco is a young, athletic boy with a heart of gold and a serious case of the zoomies. He came to us after his previous owner’s threatened to abandon—or worse—harm him when they had to move, a neighbor stepped in and saved his life..This compact little guy might not be big, but he’s strong, agile, and can clear a 5-foot fence like it’s nothing (and has even scaled 6-foot ones with determination!). Despite his super-athlete skills, Draco is a total sweetheart. He enjoys calm pets, takes affection gently, and doesn’t bark much. He gets along with other dogs and walks nicely on leash, making him a great companion for walks, hikes, and outdoor adventures. Draco would thrive with an active person or family who can give him plenty of exercise—and a yard or setup that keeps his jumping talent safely contained. Adopt Draco, and you’ll gain not just a loyal companion but a running buddy, trail partner, and affectionate friend who’ll make every day brighter.

Story
Jersey is the kind of dog that’s just plain easy to be around. He’s happy to entertain himself in the yard, watching the world with his thoughtful eyes and wagging tail, but he’s also quick to trot over for some pets and attention. He’s not pushy or demanding – just steady, sweet, and ready to be someone’s loyal companion. He’s got great manners: he sits for treats, always takes them gently, and is already potty trained. Jersey also proved himself cat-friendly in foster care and continues to do well with other dogs. Staff love him for his relaxed personality and his friendly smile that makes everyone’s day better. After a year of waiting, Jersey is more than ready for his forever home!
