Story
Current Location: Parsonsburg, MD Hello! My name is Judy Hopps! I'm coming to OPH on 2/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! "This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
Cooper is a gentle giant. He is very big, but so gentle. He loves hugs. He will walk to you and put his head into you and give you hugs. He loves to cuddle even though he is so big. He LOVES his ball he could play ball all day long. He also enjoys being outside. We never trained him to track anything. I’m not sure if it would be too late. He only howls when he is chasing after the ball. Barely barks inside the house. He does know sit and paw. If you are familiar with bloodhounds they are stubborn. He doesn’t always want to come inside for me, but listens well to my husband. He is crate trained. We put him in his crate when we leave the house and when we go to bed. He actually loves his crate. Around 8:30 every night he shows us he is ready for bed. We have walked him on a leash but never really trained him well. And he does not do well with car rides. He seems scared and gets a little car sick.He is good with kids, he is just big. Very good dog! Would make a great family pet.
