Story
Love is in the air when you meet our boy Joffrey. He is a bloodhound hound mix weighing around 67 pounds. He is a year and six months old, so he is probably full grown. Those darn cute floppy ears and accents around his beautiful amber eye tells you that he is not just hound. His short coat is tri color: black, brown and white. He is one handsome dude. Known for being gentle giants, bloodhound mixes are usually very patient and good-natured, especially with families. They have a mind of their own, as they prefer to follow their noses. Despite a reputation for being lazy, they are actually quite active, requiring 1-2 hours of daily exercise to prevent boredom-induced behaviors. They are famous for baying and howling! Those are the basic characteristics of bloodhounds, but Joffrey may not follow those paths associated with the breed. Joffrey was found as a stray. So, little is known about his past life. He is very much dog friendly and adores children. Since coming into rescue, he has not been introduced to a cat. He is working on his house, crate, and leash training. Daily walks will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. A secure back yard will give him free time to play and burn off extra energy. Maybe he would also enjoy going for hikes. At home he will also benefit from lots of attention and mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. That will keep him from being bored. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Joffrey is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.February 19, 2026, 5:52 am

Story
This is one of the hardest things to write. After 4 years I have decided to post this. Mac is a great boy. Seriously the best. He loves to play and a has a great heart. He loves humans so much it will annoy you. Unfortunately with my life situation he is in a small apartment.I feel guilty and want what’s best for him. I just want a family who loves him as much as me. He’s a baby. About Mac. He’s a love, he loves attention. He will want to cuddle all the time. He loves to be pet. He does get over stimulated. When he gets excited he can get High energy. Definitely better this last year but can get high energy. He loves to be outside and play. He can run around with other dogs all day long. He loves to be chased and sometimes chase you. He’s a love. PS, he knows Spanish and English!
