Story
Ace is a young hound mix under a year old with a calm, thoughtful personality and just the right balance of adventure and downtime. He enjoys exploring the woods, sniffing around trails, and hanging out near the water, but he is not nonstop hyper or chaotic. After some fun and activity, he settles down nicely. Ace is great with other dogs and with cats. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he becomes incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loyal. He is the kind of dog who forms real bonds instead of instantly demanding attention from everyone he meets. He would do great with someone who wants an active companion for walks, exploring, road trips, or outdoor time, while still wanting a dog that can relax and coexist peacefully at home afterward. Currently in Oklahoma but can be adopted to approved out-of-state homes via transport. If an adoption does not work out (rare, but life happens), I always take my dogs back. Fully vetted (neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested). Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport and vetting). Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 Transport available to: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95.

Story
Ollie is an extremely sweet, goofy, energetic boy. He loves chasing squirrels, zooming around the yard, lounging outside in the sun, and pretending he’s a lap dog. He is somewhat high-strung and needs a calm home environment with lots of walks and outside time. He is food motivated and highly trainable. He knows basic commands and has had extensive leash training through Animal Alliances in Northampton. His trainer is willing to talk to potential adopters if desired. Ollie does not have an aggressive bone in his body, but he can be reactive with other dogs while on a leash. He may do well in a home with another dog if it’s the right fit. If you are an experienced dog owner with an active life and no kids at home (or responsible older kids), Ollie may be your future best friend!Health note: Ollie has had 2 surgeries to replace torn ACLs in both hind legs. This puts him at higher risk for arthritis as he gets older. He is currently 6 years old. He also takes a daily joint supplement.

Story
Meet Rey! A thoughtful almost five-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix currently living in Medford, MA, whose heart beats strongest for bacon-scented fetch balls, cozy naps, and training games that come with tasty rewards. With her striking black and fawn coat and expressive eyes that light up for treats, Rey is both clever and loyal! She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and knows an impressive list of commands like “sit,” “stay,” “heel,” “touch,” and even “hold,” where she’ll patiently balance a treat on her nose. Walks around the neighborhood and treat-dispensing puzzle toys are some of her favorite ways to spend the day, and she’s happiest when life follows a calm, predictable routine. Rey is currently taking daily fluoxetine to support her anxiety, and with consistent training and structure, she’s made incredible progress! Her anxiety tends to show up around unfamiliar people and dogs who approach her with interest, and while she can settle quickly when left alone, she needs help managing greetings and space boundaries. Her current caregivers use leash management, positive reinforcement, and distance-based games to help her feel secure during new encounters. It’s important to note that Rey has a bite history. In past situations where she felt startled or overwhelmed—such as when someone disturbed her while she was sleeping or tried to take food—she has reacted defensively and bitten. These incidents were not unprovoked and did not require medical attention, and her signals when uncomfortable are easy to spot with experience. For this reason, Rey is not suitable for homes with children or other pets. She’s best suited for a quiet, structured environment with a caregiver who has experience working with anxious or reactive dogs. Despite her challenges, Rey is deeply connected to her people and incredibly responsive to training. She’s not high-energy, but she’s engaged and eager to learn when motivated by food and trust. We’re including a full month of behavioral guidance from our consultant to help Rey settle in. Her new family will have compassionate support every step of the way to feel confident, connected, and at home. Could your steady, pet-free home be the space where Rey can thrive with calm leadership and loving patience? PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.8/12/26 WAIVED ADOPTION FEE! Lewis needs some SHARES!! He can’t stay in rescue forever and he’s holding up a spot for others in need. Please note he is NOT a senior! He is only 5 1/2 years old. He was originally adopted from us as a puppy so we know his age. He just got a gray face faster than some. Lewis is a mix of many breeds and weighs about 40 pounds. His previous owners did a DNA test. Unfortunately they only sent us 1 picture with the results which didn’t show all the breeds but it did show treeing Walker Hound, American Foxhound, Plott Hound, Toy Fox Terrier, Bassett Hound, and Parson Russell Terrier. He is very mixed.   He is a happy go lucky dude who is playful and energetic, but can also calm down quickly. Lewis’s favorite past times are lounging on the couch or in a dog bed with a fluffy blanket, chewing on a dog toy, and playing with his foster siblings (dogs). He is good with other dogs, cats and kids, crate and house trained. He’s doing well with his leash manners and very much enjoys going for walks! If you’re looking for a lovable, happy, semi -playful pup who just wants to cuddle and play with toys, Lewis is your guy. Don’t miss out! We also have a few videos of him and more pictures, this site only lets us put 4 pictures. Story
Jenny Lynn is a 1-year-old female Treeing Walker Hound mix who weighs around 55 lbs. Jenny is definitely a hound dog, but she isn’t crying all the time. Far from it! Sweet Jenny Lynn is about the happiest girl you will find. Happy, fun, and very social, Jenny Lynn is now ready to find a family who will offer her a place in their home. Jenny arrived into our care about a month ago. Upon arrival, she was in pretty poor shape—neglected, skinny, and in need of some TLC. Jenny got exactly that with our friends at the local vet while staying with them for the past month   Jenny loves every person she meets and is fantastic with other dogs. Her energy level is moderate. She would make a fantastic, fun dog for some lucky family, one who especially loves hounds.  Jenny Lynn is spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. Please sign up for your first month of pet insurance on us! If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://packleadersrescue.com/adoption-application/
