Story
Macy Female spayed 3 years old UTD on shots Plott Hound 65 pounds My name is Macy. I am a local girl who found herself in a tough position. I loved my owner fiercely, but we were losing our safe place to live. I also had a little fling with a handsome German Shepard next door and discovered that fling had consequences… babies! Anway, as you can imagine, our lives were changing and my owner decided it was best to find a safer place to have my puppies. I had my beautiful babies at the end of August 2024. My foster mom and I didn’t have much time to bond before the birth, but boy did we do so during labor. As my pups began to wean from nursing, I found that I didn’t like being alone. I became very anxious and chewed on things I shouldn’t when anxious. My foster mom had another foster dog in the house with whom I slowly became good friends (…and I tolerate the 2.5-pound resident yappy dog), but the other foster dog found her fur-ever home. Once my friend left, it was my turn to spend more time with my foster mom to…. As she put it, “learn some manners”. I didn’t see any problem but apparently, not everything I did was seen as adorable. Just between you and me, I am totally adorable. I didn’t realize that it was rude to eat off the counter or jump up to get a hug! So on to my doggy skills: I still have lots of puppy energy, and I am a pro at playing catch. I even play catch with ping pong balls inside if the weather is bad. I walk on the leash pretty well. I like to move fast, though and it may feel like I am pulling you, but it is just that you likely move too slow! I am veeerrrry good at holding my potty and will follow my human’s schedule pretty well once I learn it. I use a crate when my foster mom goes out. Unfortunately, as I said, I don’t like being alone and I get super anxious. I will rip my blankets and bedding to work through my feelings, but I am getting much better with multiple practice sessions per day. I have been known to bite the bars on standard crates and I broke a tooth (scheduled for repair late March), ouch! While you are home, I shouldn’t need a crate too much, but I probably need to keep up with practicing so I don’t get anxious every time I need to go in. When my foster mom has dinner or breakfast cuddled in bed, I am very interested. Once she tells me that she isn’t sharing though, I will wait quietly at the end of the bed to see if she changes her mind. When she does, I take bites ever so gently (so I can get more, obviously). Foster mom’s notes: I think the ideal home for Macy is one with several members in the family, so she isn’t home alone much, and a fenced backyard because she does see herself as your guardian and needs to roam. She has a loud bark when she hears noises which isn’t great for apartment living. When I let her out the sliding door, she will wait patiently by the door to come back in. If you are not a fan of seeing balls of dog hair everywhere, this is your girl. Her coat is super soft and short, and sheds tiny dark, eyelash-sized hairs. When she goes outside in the rain, she shakes before coming in and is nearly dry! Macy is getting so much better about not jumping up, and most of the time when she jumps now, her weight is on her back feet and barely leans on me. She has been with small and bigger dogs, but she doesn’t always remember to be gentle with the little one. She would be happiest with a medium/large canine friend to play with her. I have not seen her with cats or children, but she has met my pet rabbits and chickens. She has only shown mild curiosity even when they were accessible to her. When seeing new dogs at the vet or pet store, or even while sitting in the car, her hound bark surfaces. Trust me when I say it is intimidating, but she is in protector mode, not attack mode. This also can happen when new people come into ‘her space', but she isn’t aggressive. Introductions should be planned until she knows them. She is soooo smart, so with more exposure to people and dogs, she will learn that we don’t need her to her to frighten them away. If my own life wasn’t changing, I totally would want to keep her with me. She is incredibly lovable and very much wants to please you….she will be your protector, ball fetcher, and weighted blanket if you let her. (105)           +4 ##2336017##

Story
TysonMaleMixed breed1 year old (12/09/23)36lbsTyson is a lovable pup with a gentle heart and an inspiring story. Originally from Georgia, Tyson has been with Buddy’s Rescue since he was a baby. Adopted as a young pup, he unfortunately found himself back in the rescue through no fault of his own. Along the way, he developed EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), a manageable condition that simply requires a sprinkle of enzyme powder on his meals to help with digestion. This small step keeps Tyson healthy and thriving. Despite his journey, Tyson’s playful spirit and loving nature shine brightly. He’s a snuggly, happy boy who might even make you laugh with an occasional toot—just part of his charm!Tyson is still learning to trust new people, which is understandable given his journey. He’s made great strides in his current foster home and is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who he can bond with, and can help him continue to grow. He’s crate-trained but also perfectly content snoozing on his dog bed—or sharing yours if you let him!Tyson thrives in a calm home, so one without children is best for now. He enjoys playing with other dogs at Buddy’s daycare but will need proper introductions to new dog friends. He hasn’t met any cats yet.If you’re someone with patience, a big heart, and the desire to give a deserving dog the safe and loving home he’s been waiting for, Tyson just might be your perfect match.Ready to meet Tyson? if you’re already approved, send an email to request a meet-and-greet!
