Story
🐾🦴 Meet Boone: The Frisky Coonhound with an Overflowing Heart of Affection 💙 This spunky boy is smart, silly, and absolutely knows how to use his handsome charm to try and get his way. Boone is learning quickly and is searching for a pack to call his own. At the end of every adventure or play session, Boone’s favorite thing is leaning into his people for pets, cuddles, and love. 🥰 🌟 Name: Boone 🎂 Age: Approximately 3 years old 🐶 Breed: Blood/Black & Tan Coonhound 🥌 Weight: 65-70 lbs 💉 Vaccination Status: Boone is up to date on his annual vaccines through April 2027, helping ensure his continued health and well-being. 💊❤️‍🩹 Current Medical Needs: Boone is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He was just neutered on 6/3 and will eventually require strict activity restriction for approximately 10-12 weeks once his injection treatment begins to ensure safe healing and recovery. ➡️ We are currently searching for a foster-to-adopt home willing to help Boone through his heartworm treatment journey. Adoption would not be finalized until treatment is fully completed. Our hope is to place Boone into his future home before his injection phase begins. Once injections start, he will remain with his current foster until treatment is completed, as transitioning homes during recovery would create too much stress while healing. 🏡 Ideal Home: Boone is looking for a patient, structured foster-to-adopt home with a fenced yard where he can safely sniff, explore, and continue learning. He would love a playful canine companion who enjoys some wrestling and goofy hound antics but can also help teach him boundaries and manners. According to Boone, humans should also be willing to provide nonstop attention and unlimited affection. 😂 In reality, Boone would thrive best with a family that can provide consistency, playful engagement, and continued training. He would especially love a home with people who enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the wonderfully dramatic baying commentary only a hound can provide. 😎 🐕 Compatibility: Boone does well with other dogs. Due to his size and goofy energy, small children should still be supervised around him, though he has a soft and affectionate nature. Cats are currently unknown and may be questionable due to prey drive instincts. ✂️ Grooming: Boone has minimal coat maintenance needs, though regular ear cleaning will be important, as with most hounds. 🐾 Training: Boone is currently learning all the basics of indoor living and is catching on quickly with consistency. He is potty trained but may need a little reminder in a new home. He will continue needing guidance with leash manners on walks and learning when other dogs need breaks from play. Story
🐾 Meet Banner ❤️ Banner is a 2-year-old, 50 lb hound mix with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life! He’s neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccines, and microchipped—ready to head straight into his forever home. This handsome guy is full of energy and would thrive in an active home. If you’re looking for a jogging buddy, hiking partner, or just a reason to get outside more—Banner is your guy! 🏃‍♀️ We currently walk three times a day, and he absolutely loves every minute of it. Banner enjoys being the king of his castle, so he’d do best as the only dog, though he may get along with some female dogs. Cats are a no for him—he prefers chasing squirrels and following exciting scent trails in the yard instead 🐿️👃 A securely fenced yard is a must for Banner, as his nose tends to lead the way! He’s crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night (8–10 hours like a champ 💤). He’s also been working hard on his leash manners and has made great progress—he’s a smart boy who just needs consistency to keep shining. Banner does experience separation anxiety, and his person will need to continue helping him build confidence when alone. With patience, routine, and love, he’s already shown he can improve—he just needs someone willing to keep cheering him on. And here’s the best part… Banner is SO incredibly loving. He adores people, especially kids, and wants to say hello to everyone he meets. He hasn’t been around infants or toddlers yet, but his sweet, friendly nature really shines. ✨ Banner may still be a bit of a “diamond in the rough,” but with the right person, he’s going to be an absolute gem. If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate, adventure-loving best friend—Banner is waiting for you. 📍Being fostered in Elkhart Lake, WI 🏁My adoption fee is $350 and you can see more about the rescue at https://lastpawrescue.org. Our website takes days to update so please apply even if I’m not on there. ✅You can apply directly at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LPRI/Dog?fbclid=IwAR2NSCms13xrrfdH2mAbM1hPg5dQoC0ruvNJI3TsFtZtsWp9PvNx46zC6SM 501(c)(3) Approved WI Agricultural Licence#285589-DSR
