Diva (aka Dew Drop) became an AATDR dog because her family could no longer keep her. She's a gorgeous girl who would enjoy life to the fullest with an active, adult family, or one with teenaged children. She would just love to be in a home - right now she's in boarding and has been for far too long. A home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for her. She is a smart girl who loves learning. She needs exercise for both her mind and her body. She'd like to go on long walks or hikes, and she'd be a great candidate for nose work or agility. Diva does need to be an only pet. Given a short time to get to know you, Diva will be your best friend and a loyal companion. If you live in Connecticut and would like to foster or adopt Diva - especially if you have experience with working or hunting breeds - please let us know.

Carly is the last of her litter who is still available, and we keep asking ourselves, WHY? She's such a nice dog with her beautiful face. Carly's birthday is 4/3/23. Carly is 47 lbs. Adorable and energetic girl. She’s tall, lean, very Athletic, and can jump low fences easily. House-trained, but she may have an accident if she's very excited. She connects well with females and will need an additional day or two to get used to the male in the family since she was fostered and cared for by a female. She's friendly with other dogs. And she is not sure about cats. Very food motivated, which is a plus for easier training. Now working on leash walks Currently fostered in NJ The best home for Carly: A house with at least six feet of fence Another friendly dog is a plus Active family, going on hiking, running partner, etc Loving and patient owners Here is the back story: A lady in her late 80s loves her momma dog. The girl jumped the fence and got pregnant. (we'll be spaying her on the 25th) The lady, unfortunately, has terminal cancer and is somewhat bedridden. She can no longer care for them the way they need to be. She loves all of them and was crying, knowing she had to give them up. The six siblings were underweight and covered in fleas, but they anxiously waited for the lady to come to sit on the porch because the pups knew they would be patted! The lady has done her best to care for them and realizes it’s time to let them go. Our foster promised her we would find loving homes for them. And we will. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION PEPPER IS IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS IF INTERESTED THERE IS AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/ This adorable girl is approx 6 years old and 35 lbs,she is a little on the chubby side and could do to lose some weight we did a dna test on Pepper and she is mainly Australian cattle dog with 13 other breeds mixed in.... she is a really well behaved dog and hangs out most of the time on her own,she really doesn’t like to play very much with the other rescues , but occasionally will join in to a game of tag she has a great disposition and loves people, she will follow her foster everywhere she would do great as an only dog or with a couple of laid back buddies she tested positive for heartworms when we rescued her and has been treated with the AHS required number of shots and we usually find that the dogs test negative in 4 to 6 months she is also on a monthly heartworm preventative. OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years. WE REQUIRE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER The total adoption fee of $500 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper , and microchip. This very handsome dude is Grover, a 2&1/2 year old sweet and goofy Doberman/Shepherd mix who comes to PAWS from a NJ Humane Society. Grover is a playful, energetic and happy boy who does not show any food or toy resource guarding. He loves to play with his stuffies and can entertain himself for some time! Grover will bark at other dogs when walking by them on leash, but seems ok with them after a proper introduction. Grover needs a strong handler as he can pull on leash and be quite jumpy. He will require additional training to work on his manners. Grover's jumpiness and boisterousness would not make him the best suited for households with children under 15. He would also do best as an only dog so that he can receive the proper attention and training to be the best dog he can be. Grover is microchipped an up to date on his vaccinations and will be adopted out with a voucher for his neuter.
