Story
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION PEPPER IS IN FOSTER CARE IN NORWALK, CT IF INTERESTED THERE IS AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/ Pepper was a stray in TX and pulled off the euthanasia list. It is hard to believe that such a sweet dog almost never made it out of the shelter! This adorable girl is approx 4-6 years old and 32 lbs and is a little on the chubby side and could do to lose some weight. She is a really sweet and well behaved dog and is completely housebroken. She enjoys her walks but also loves to just hang out in the backyard while her foster mom is gardening. She loves to sprawl out on a sunny day in the grass. She has a pretty laid back personality and when inside she is a professional couch potato.... she loves to snuggle up with her person on the couch. She is a very smart girl and has already mastered several commands in the short time she has been in CT! She enjoys the company of other calm dogs but really doesn’t like to play very much with the other rescues. She has a wonderful disposition and loves people but can be a little shy when she first meets someone out on a walk. She is also slightly reactive when she sees another dog but she is learning with treats that it's not such a bad thing! Having come from a stray dog background she is understandably cautious with strangers! we did a dna test on Pepper and she is mainly Australian cattle dog with 13 other breeds mixed in.... Pepper is spayed and fully vaccinated. She tested positive for heartworms when we rescued her and has been treated successfully and has recently tested negative. OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years. WE REQUIRE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER The total adoption fee of $500 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper , and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/

Mojo was found as a stray and we made every effort to find his owners but to no avail. He is an Aussie mix and of course with the breed comes high activity. I will say that he loves his down time though! He is NOT an apartment dog. He needs a good sized fenced yard. He is not great in a crowd of dogs but will do well with a sister or brother to play with. He hasn't been tested with cats so we don't know about that. The vet believes his age to be about 6 years. He's neutered, vaccinated, crate trained and heart worm negative. He is more than ready for his forever home! ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
Archie and Edith showed up at my neighbor's horse farm and just collapsed from exhaustion. It looked like that hadn't eaten in weeks. We ran over to get them and the poor things slept for two days straight. Of course they were starving as well. They had no collars and were not microchipped. We posted them on the lost and found pages but nobody came forward so it's very likely that they were dumped. We discovered immediately that Edith was stone deaf. She relies on Archie for guidance. When we took them to our vet, the assumption was that they were mother and son. Archie is approximately 18 months and Edith is approximately 2 1/2. We will NOT separate them! They are both spayed/neutered. In fact Edith was already spayed. They are heart worm negative and fully vaccinated. They are without a doubt purebred Blue Heelers. Lovable and great with young children, they are ready for their forever home! Could that be you? Adoption fee of $700 is for both dogs. ADOPTION FEE $700

Story
Hello! I'm Bolt, a lively 10-week-old Cattle Dog/Eskie mix, weighing 14 pounds. I'm bursting with enthusiasm and excitement at the thought of finding my future home. My loving and friendly personality makes me an ideal companion for anyone seeking a loyal and affectionate furry friend. I'm on the lookout for a forever home where I can thrive and spread happiness. As a young pup, I'm eager to explore new environments, make new friends, and learn new things. Can you be the one to make that happen? I can’t wait to meet you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
