*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***She is a calm and really, really sweet girl who likes attention- For the most part, she’s content on one of her two large K9 Ballistics beds (we have oneon our main living level and one in our bedroom/Morgan’s office)- She’s a sporting dog and needs to get her energy out! We currently take her for two1-mile+ walks per day around the park- She is innately a rodent hunter and is very attracted to squirrels and rabbits onour walks- She’s good with other dogs (respectful and curious on our walks; reports from boardingare that she enjoys running with the other medium-sized dogs during the day)- Up-to-date on all vaccines- She is potty-trained- She is crate-trained- Until moving to Chicago in July, she’d slept in her crate at night on our main livinglevel- Since moving, she’s slept on her bed on the main living level or, more often, onher bed in our bedroom- She has separation anxiety and has a really hard time when we leave the house; she’llbark, often continuously, while we’re out of the house- Morgan and I both work at home- We normally give her Trazodone any time we leave the house for a couple hoursat a time, which seems to helpFor adoption information, please email wenzel.cole@gmail.com

As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***Beau is a two-year-old bloodhound who is 90 pounds is very playful and yes, is two years old so still a bit of a puppy when it comes to chewing on occasion. loves to play with kids. would do best in a home as an only pet as he does have a high prey drive so being around cats and other small animals is not the best. he does not do the best around other dogs and is very excitable. We have done a training class to combat his excitement, but still could benefit from additional training. he is on heartworm prevention, neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. He is crate, trained housebroken, knows “sit, come and off” and loves to play fetch with his Kong. He would love to sleep in your bed. No health issues! We’re not sure what Macauley’s mix is — but whatever it is, it’s adorable. 🍌 This cute, sweet, and silly guy wins everyone over with his long curly-Q tail and his goofy charm. He’s got good manners, pretends to be a picky treat eater (not really), and was even willing to go as a banana for Halloween. Macauley’s ready to find someone who loves a little sweetness and silliness in their life. Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
