He's a snuggle bug, and loves to play, great listener, but again extremely anxious and takes daily anxiety medication. Will love a gentle household, is very scared of thunder and loud vehicles.

Hi, I`m Velma! I’m a 7.5-year-old Bloodhound with a beautiful tan coat, ears that go on for days, and an affectionate, social personality. If I could snuggle all day, then that is probably what I would do! My second favorite thing to do is to go on a nice long walk where I can explore all the interesting smells in the neighborhood. I`ve done basic obedience and am very treat-motivated! I love people of all ages, but I`m a larger girl so I might knock over tiny tots if I`m not managed properly! I am dog-selective at first, but if a dog is calm and easy-going, I am happy to be their friend. I don`t play with other dogs for very long, but I love parallel snooping, walking, and napping. I`m not great at sharing with other dogs though, so I would do best as an only pet with dog friends outside of the home. I will make a magnificent, loyal companion for the lucky person who brings me home. My sweet and happy personality is unmatched. Get ready to meet your new best friend—Jager is here to steal your heart and make a splash in your life! He is a 60 lb mix with lots of love to give. We recently had a DNA test done on him and wow is he a mix of a lot of breeds. Lots of good traits in this boy! At 4 years old, this handsome pup has proven to be a loyal companion in his foster home. He’d love to find his forever home where he can show you what a great dog he really is! Though he can still be a little shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly and thrives when he feels safe and connected. He’s happiest just being near his people — whether that’s helping with yard work, keeping an eye for the intruder squirrels, or cuddling on the couch. Jager is housebroken, great on a leash, and gets along well with other dogs with introduction. Jager is a "ladies dog" he will go straight for the cuddles when he hears a beautiful female voice. But really does love all people once he gets to know you. He will lean into you for cuddles and affection. He does great with other dogs, playing in the yard and enjoys zooming around the outdoor area. A sweet, active, and social boy ready for a second chance! Jager would do best in a home with older children and would love a fenced in yard in his forever home. He absolutely loves the freedom of hanging outside while his family is does yard work or is relaxing. Jager is available to adopt in the Chicagoland area and is being fostered in a home. Appointments to visit him will be set up for approved adopters only. Adoption fee is $200.00 which includes all appropriate vaccines, and he is neutered and microchipped. This beautiful gal is spayed and fully healthy! She is up to date on vaccines. She is also microchipped! 💧: Housebreaking - She has good house manners but may have an occasional accident while first adjusting to a new home. 🏠 : Crate Training - She has done well with free roam overnight and when home alone, which she seems to prefer to being crated. 🚶: Leash walking - She has good leash manners but may occasionally pull a bit to say hello to new friends 🐶: Dog-friendly - Yes! She enjoys the company of other dogs and has done well with a variety of canine friends. 😺: Cat-friendly - She lives with a dog-savvy cat in her foster home and has been doing well! 🧒 Kid-friendly - Not sure, she has not met any kids while with us Pita is such a sweet angel pup! She was a little nervous when she first came to Chicago, but she has improved a lot in such a short time amount of time. She LOVES food and using her sniffer, and would probably do great at scentwork! She’s a really easy dog overall and would likely fit into any home nicely! 🩺 Pita is heartworm positive and on activity restriction. Otis is at our Bucktown Adoption Center (2144 N. Wood St.) Stop in anytime during open hours to meet him! This sweet boy is neutered and fully healthy! He is up to date on vaccines. He is also microchipped! 💧: Housebreaking - Otis is still developing potty-training skills, given his fearfulness outdoors, and will need patience as he works on this. 🏠 : Crate Training - He is comfortable spending time in a crate and settles easily. 🚶: Leash walking - He is working on building his confidence on leash, and would likely do best in a quieter neighborhood 🐶: Dog-friendly - Otis loves other dogs and would benefit from having a canine companion in the home to help him build his confidence. 😺: Cat-friendly - Not sure, he has not been tested with cats while with us. We would recommend a slow introduction with a way to separate the home for each pet. 🧒: Kid Friendly - Enjoys spending time with children and has demonstrated appropriate behavior around them.
