**Meet our forever puppy!** ❤️🐾 At 11 years old, this handsome hound mix still has the heart, spirit, and energy of a puppy. Outgoing, goofy, and always ready for fun, he's the life of the foster home. Even though he's one of the oldest of all our senior foster dogs, you'd never know it by the way he keeps everyone playing, smiling, and on their toes! His absolute favorite thing in the world? Other dogs! He thrives with canine friends and would love a home with another playful pup to keep him company. His joyful personality is contagious, and he brings so much happiness wherever he goes. Like many hounds, he's got his own quirky charm and would do best with someone who understands and appreciates the unique personalities of his breed. If you know hounds, you know they're equal parts lovable, stubborn, hilarious, and endlessly entertaining. We're honestly shocked this sweet boy is still waiting. He's handsome, full of love, and has so much life left to share—yet he rarely gets applications. We know his perfect person is out there, and when they finally meet him, they'll wonder how they ever lived without him. Could you be the one to give this forever puppy the loving home he's been waiting for?

Story
**SILVER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Pal's Place would love to introduce you to an adorable group of seven precious and perfect pups! Our adoptable "S" litter (Silver, Sapphire, Stuart, Shelby, Stanley, Sable, and Shiloh) are mixed-breed puppies seeking loving forever homes. Their appearance and characteristics suggest a family tree consisting of multiple breeds, most likely belonging to the Hound and Herding groups of dogs. We suspect Catahoula Leopard Dog, Australian Shepherd, and/or Cattledog, Coonhound, German Shepherd, and other similar breeds can be found in their ancestry. These sweethearts are about 3.5 months old (as of 6/16), weigh between 20 and 25 pounds, and are ready and anxious for families! They were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky and are now in a loving foster home in Chicago, waiting to meet their forever families. Since these little squirts were rescued from an animal control facility, we have no information about their parents' breeds or backgrounds. Their listed breed mix and estimated adult sizes are educated and informed guesses. Both parents were most likely mixed breeds, and the puppies in this litter are likely a combination of several breeds. However, we can confidently say that they are 100% puppy perfection! These puppies are a bit large for their age, and we are estimating an adult size ranging from 70 to 90 pounds. Stuart (M) is the largest, weighing in at a whopping 25 pounds. Shelby (F) is the smallest at 20 pounds. There are three females and four males in the litter. They are all very friendly, social, curious, and happy puppies and will make first-rate companions! Given their breed type, we expect them to mature into energetic and intelligent dogs that will do best with active families who can provide outlets for their very high-energy levels and intelligence. Couch potatoes they are not, and they all love to stay busy busy!! They love people and other dogs and are eager and excited to get out into the world with their new families. Puppies are CUTE and lovable, but also require a lot of patience and work as they grow up and learn about the world around them. Remember that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 2-3 hours or so) and lots of playtime, training, guidance, and supervision throughout the day for the next several months. Please consider if you truly have the time and energy to raise a very young, high-energy working breed puppy before applying. Their adoption fee to the rescue is $475 per puppy. This fee helps to cover their medical expenses while in our care. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, and are taking monthly flea/heartworm preventatives. This litter is in a foster home and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for more than three days after an application has been received and approved for a meeting. Story
Meet Whimsey! Female 1 year old 30 pounds Good with cats & dogs Whimsey is a pocket-sized bundle of joy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This sweet girl is ready to find her true forever home. She was previously adopted from Safe Haven and returned through no fault of her own—sometimes the right match just takes a little time! Whimsey is incredibly smart and loves to learn. She already knows 15+ commands, has started in agility and scentwork classes, and is working hard in obedience training—pretty impressive for such a young pup! She’s still polishing her leash manners and crate skills, but she’s working hard every day to become the goodest girl. She is fully potty trained and does a great job alerting when she needs to go outside. She loves fetch—though she’s still perfecting the “bring it back” part. This energetic little lady would thrive in an active home, especially one interested in dog sports, running, biking, or any activity that keeps her brain and body busy. Mental stimulation is key for Whimsey—she’s clever, curious, and always ready for her next challenge! Personal space? Never heard of it. Whimsey is a certified lap dog who loves being close to her people. She adores playing with other dogs and is always up for wrestling, tug, or zoomies. She plays submissively in groups and does wonderfully with canine friends. Her favorite game with friends is chase and this speed demon can out run most everyone. She’s also curious about the cats in her foster home and enjoys following them around, but she’s respectful and backs off when they let her know they need space. Because Whimsey is young, smart, and has a very talented nose (she will sniff out anything left on the floor), she would do best in a home with older children or adults who can keep her safely stimulated and engaged. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, sporty, and endlessly entertaining companion, Whimsey just might be your perfect match Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip. To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process. To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.

Story
Hi! My name is Nash, I am a 7 month old, 22lb and growing small/medium breed hound mix - maybe beagle, treeing walker or maybe basset? My 2 brothers and I were found in a ditch in Tennessee and sent to rescue. We came pretty sick and have gained our strength and are ready to take on the world! My foster mom says that I’ve come a long way since I arrived too afraid for people to touch me, now I am the first to greet her every morning or hop into a strangers laps especially kids! I even love going to soccer and baseball games to meet all the new people there. I have also perfected the art of puppy kisses and will lick your face if you hold me. My happiest place is playing with my dog friends and my brothers and BOY do I LOVE food!! If you drop it I promise you, I will sniff it out and eat it quickly! I also love my peanut butter kong when it’s time to go in my crate or wind down. I absolutely love to run and wrestle and play tug of war with our fancy rope toys or any ball insight! Turkey tendons are my favorite chew and sleeping next to you or a furry friend is my favorite place to be. I am a sweet boy and very affectionate and will seek out someone to cuddle dog or human. I am the first to run to my foster mom when she calls my name. And love to play with my foster families kids! I am already quite smart and social! I love my 6 foster dog friends especially the pittie mix and the Aussie who take turns being my mama! I’ve met my grandma’s chi and he was so fun too so were her cats and am very respectful of their corrections. I appropriately greet new dogs and have been a puppy rockstar at our adoption events saying hello to everyone. I love children even being held by them gently in their laps and have met those 2-17. I’ve trained foster human kids to chase and play fetch with me. I am a smart boy and doing very well pottying outside with routine, sleep in my crate and stay quiet at night and wake my foster mom up at 6 to go potty and eat. I have learned to “sit” “touch”, down” and are working on recall and I do also know my name. If you are looking for chiller pup who loves to play and be around other dogs and kids Nash is your perfect pair! While he doesn’t have to be on top of you or always carried he loves his humans and fur friends and actively seeks their attention! Our standard adoption fee is $465.
