During his training program, Auggie made wonderful progress in his obedience, confidence, and ability to work through new environments. He is a smart, driven young dog who enjoys learning and thrives with clear structure and leadership. Auggie is dog friendly and loves his people. Due to unforeseen changes in his family's living situation, they have made the difficult decision to find Auggie a home that can better meet his needs long-term. Our goal is to help him transition into a home where he can continue to succeed. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. Meet Bentley!Bentley is a 6 year old, Neutered Male, Muppet/ Irish Wolfhound/ 100% good boy mix.He is so incredibly sweet, loves his humans, and loves every human he meets. Bentley would do great with a big family including kids! Everyone at the shelter knows who Bentley is by his big excited bark so apartments and condos would not be ideal or him. Bentley is very playful, the most gentle giant, and all around great dog!
