Story
Meet Honey!Honey is a 6 month old, Spayed Female, Catahoula Leopard Dog/Boxer mix! This gorgeous little girl was transferred to us from Macomb County Animal Control. She's pretty much the sweetest and softest girl ever. She's relatively low key for a puppy and should be very easy to train as she seems eager to learn! She does well with other dogs and while she hasn't been tested around cats, she's young and should be able to do well with them after some training.Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationAfter your application is approved, a meet and greet will be set up for an animal in foster care. All Humane Society of Macomb animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested and microchipped.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Peter and his stunning ice blue eyes are sure to make you stop and stare. This absolutely jaw-dropping Catahoula Leopard Dog mix has the most striking bright blue eyes and a heart that is every bit as beautiful as his adorable face. Sadly, Peter found himself at the shelter after his owner passed away. He lost the person he loved, and now hes hoping for another chance at having a family to call his own. We're told Peter is house trained, crate trained, kid friendly, and dog friendly. We're unsure how he feels about cats, but we are learning more about him every day while he is with us. And honestly? Peter has been one of the sweetest guys here with us!!! He has quickly stolen the hearts of everyone he meets, and it's so easy to see why. He's got that gentle, special something that makes you just want to be near him. He is a very tall guy with big velvet soft ears. He's very smart and already knows some commands like sit and give paw. He loves his tasty treats and is clearly extremely photogenic...and we think he knows it. Peter is 4 years old, neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and kept on prevention here with us. Peter has already lost someone he loved. We would really love to see him find a family who will make sure he never has to wonder where he belongs again. He is handsome. He is sweet. He is ready. He just needs his second chance. Apply today to meet Peter in person and see just how special he truly is! https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with the Peter. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees includes the pets spay or neuter surgery, microchip, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm + flea + tick disease testing, fecal check, and any medical care needed while staying with us. Story
Meet Olive Miss Olive is a beautiful female Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who was born around 2/6/25 She’s heartworm negative and current on her vaccines and preventatives! Some things you should know: * She is just a big sweetheart * She weighs a perfect 36 pounds * She is already spayed * She’s good with other dogs * She’s fully housetrained and crate trained * She LOVES kids!! * She’s super sweet, social, and friendly * She is desperately looking for her forever home! This amazing girl is the whole package, just waiting for you to make her a part of your home! Her dream is to become a part of a loving family. Can you help make that dream come true? Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Maryann needs a hero. Growing up in rescue is not living her "best life". She has not had it easy. She was adopted as a puppy, but when her dad got a new girlfriend, he decided that he couldn't be bothered with his dogs and so after a year, Maryann ended up back at the rescue. Now, she is hopeful that someone will see her sweet nature and beautiful colors and make her their newest family member.
