Story
Meet Patrick: The Head-Tilting Senior with a Puppy Heart! Don't let the 12 to 14 years fool you— Patrick is a highly active Papillon mix who completely forgot he’s a senior dog! Rescued as a stray by Senior Dogs and Friends, this resilient, low-riding gentleman acts like a dog a fraction of his age. He is a total shadow who loves following you around, tilting his head intently when you speak, and claiming his rightful spot on the couch for cuddles. Watch Patrick in Action! Want to see his youthful spirit for yourself? Check out our website to see videos of Patrick strutting his stuff on walks, playing with his favorite toys, and mastering the art of couch relaxation! The Perfect Roommate: Social Life: Loves meeting new people, gets along great with friendly dogs, and is comfortable around calm, respectful older kids. (Cats are a mystery for now!). Favorite Hobbies: Daily walks, rolling around in the grass, and listening to your daily stories. Health & Pampering Requirements: The Diet: Because Patrick has lost most of his teeth, he enjoys a delicious, human-grade soft/moistened diet. No intense daily brushing required, just routine vet checks! Fitness Plan: He is currently on a gentle weight-loss plan to keep his low-riding frame sleek. He takes daily joint supplements to stay spry, which his adopter should continue. Medical Status: Neutered, fully vaccinated, and beautifully groomed. Adoption Timeline & Details: Patrick is ready to head to his forever home this week (the first week of October) ! We are actively reviewing applications to set up meet-and-greets. Adoption Fee: $395.00 How to Apply: Head over to www.smalldogrescue.org to submit your application. Our team reviews applications within 3 to 5 days to schedule a meet-and-greet, followed by a home check. The whole process takes about 1 to 2 weeks. Apply today to bring this joyful little shadow into your life! October 6, 2026, 9:33 pm
