James Alden is a 6âmonthâold allâblack sweetheart with a big fluffy tail and a gentle, thoughtful way of moving through the world. When he first arrived at DPR as a tiny kitten, he wasn’t quite sure what to make of everything—but he has come such a long way. James Alden is calm, observant, and prefers to take his time getting comfortable, and once he does, he shows a warm, soft affection that feels incredibly special. He’s wonderful with other cats and dogs, finding comfort and confidence in their company, and he enjoys being part of the household without needing to be the center of attention. What he needs most is an adopter who appreciates a kitten with a quieter nature and is happy to continue helping him build confidence at his own pace. With patience, kindness, and a gentle home, James Alden will blossom into a loyal, loving companion. This cat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. * DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption: Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.
