Story
Monkey is Sponsored by the Keay FamilyMeet Monkey – your new little shadow with a heart of gold. 🐾Monkey is a sweet, affectionate boy who truly just wants to be close to his person. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working at your desk, or getting ready for bed, Monkey will happily keep you company. He thrives on connection and will reward your love with gentle companionship and unwavering loyalty.Monkey is FIV positive (FIV+), which simply means he will need a little extra care and a thoughtful home environment. He would do best as the only cat in the home, or with other FIV+ feline friends. With proper care and management, FIV+ cats can live normal and happy lives.Good nutrition is important for all cats — and especially for FIV+ cats — to help support a strong immune system. Limiting exposure to potential pathogens is also key. NAS promotes indoor living for all adoptable cats, and it is especially important that Monkey remains an indoor only cat, where his immune system will be less exposed to illness.Routine veterinary care is essential. Monkey will need veterinary checkups twice a year, monthly parasite prevention (fleas/ticks/worms) and regular blood and urine testing to monitor his immune system. Any signs of infection should be treated promptly to keep him feeling his best.Monkey doesn’t ask for much — just a safe, loving indoor home and a person to call his own. In return, you’ll get a devoted companion who will fill your days with quiet affection and sweet moments.Could you be the one Monkey has been waiting for? 💛If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.

Story
Don’t let the name fool you while she shares a title with a famous Pokémon, this Umbreon is 100% real life magic. At a whopping 3 pounds, she is a pint sized House Panther who is currently specialized in the art of looking distinguished in a bow ! Watch her take on the living room jungle! YouTube Link Umbreon is a Level 1 Kitten with a very high curiosity stat. She’s not the type to crash into a room like a wrecking ball (she’s a lady, after all). Instead, she prefers to use her Stealth Mode to peek out from behind chair legs or under blankets to make sure the coast is clear. Once she decides you're a friend, her Special Ability kicks in: The Permanent Shadow. She will follow you around the house to supervise your daily activities, ensuring that all chores are done to her high panther standards. Umbreon also has a playful side! She enjoys chasing toys, exploring new spaces, and even fetching mid air toys with her littermates. But no matter how much fun she’s having, his favorite moments are quiet cuddles and lap time with his humans. Umbreon has completed her Pokémon “training” and is looking for her forever "Gym." She’s vetted, tiny, and ready to go! Ready to add this tiny Dark type to your team? https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/699607363aa7dbc5ab0d712c Questions? Story
Lupine is a very outgoing and lovable character. He will love you unconditionally. His favorite past time is climbing trees and basking in the sunshine. He will always come when he is called “Lu Lu” and take naps/sleep in between your legs. Soft food is his go to but being that he is super active he will pretty much eat anything. His coat is soft and his eyes will always brighten up your day! Lupine is part Bombay (black panther) and Siamese (very intelligent). He probably is one of the smartest cats I have ever owned.

Story
We adopted Baku in Los Angeles in 2017 when he was 6 months old. He quickly bonded with our cat Sam, he was Sam’s cat really. Sam passed away last summer and Baku has been lost since. He is terrified of our two year old son and hides until he goes to bed. He loves cuddles and to play and is a really sweet boy but he is lonely and unhappy with our toddler now in the house and no Sampson to care for him. He can only eat wet cat food, and small amounts of it at a time, we space out feedings or he will eat it all at once, way too fast and make himself vomit. He needs a litter box with a cover because sometimes he pees over the edge of the litter box. He is definitely a little bit of a goofy, sensitive guy. But would do great with a loving home and a new companion. He loves to be held and cleaned (cat licks or brushed) and to cuddle under the blankets or bask in the sun. We love him but he just isn’t getting the attention and life he deserves with our big life changes.

Story
Squid is an odd little fellow. He's sweet and social, but jumpy as hell and does not like busy or chaos. That is our main reason for rehoming - we have a big, loud and energetic family and it's clear that he isn't settling down here because of it. He'd do well in a smaller family, 1-3 people, or at least in a setting that's calmer than ours. We adopted him from PetSmart in Tualatin. He has no real issues, just isn't very happy here and we want him to have better.
