Story
We adopted Baku in Los Angeles in 2017 when he was 6 months old. He quickly bonded with our cat Sam, he was Sam’s cat really. Sam passed away last summer and Baku has been lost since. He is terrified of our two year old son and hides until he goes to bed. He loves cuddles and to play and is a really sweet boy but he is lonely and unhappy with our toddler now in the house and no Sampson to care for him. He can only eat wet cat food, and small amounts of it at a time, we space out feedings or he will eat it all at once, way too fast and make himself vomit. He needs a litter box with a cover because sometimes he pees over the edge of the litter box. He is definitely a little bit of a goofy, sensitive guy. But would do great with a loving home and a new companion. He loves to be held and cleaned (cat licks or brushed) and to cuddle under the blankets or bask in the sun. We love him but he just isn’t getting the attention and life he deserves with our big life changes.

Story
Monkey is Sponsored by the Keay FamilyMeet Monkey – your new little shadow with a heart of gold. 🐾Monkey is a sweet, affectionate boy who truly just wants to be close to his person. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working at your desk, or getting ready for bed, Monkey will happily keep you company. He thrives on connection and will reward your love with gentle companionship and unwavering loyalty.Monkey is FIV positive (FIV+), which simply means he will need a little extra care and a thoughtful home environment. He would do best as the only cat in the home, or with other FIV+ feline friends. With proper care and management, FIV+ cats can live normal and happy lives.Good nutrition is important for all cats — and especially for FIV+ cats — to help support a strong immune system. Limiting exposure to potential pathogens is also key. NAS promotes indoor living for all adoptable cats, and it is especially important that Monkey remains an indoor only cat, where his immune system will be less exposed to illness.Routine veterinary care is essential. Monkey will need veterinary checkups twice a year, monthly parasite prevention (fleas/ticks/worms) and regular blood and urine testing to monitor his immune system. Any signs of infection should be treated promptly to keep him feeling his best.Monkey doesn’t ask for much — just a safe, loving indoor home and a person to call his own. In return, you’ll get a devoted companion who will fill your days with quiet affection and sweet moments.Could you be the one Monkey has been waiting for? 💛If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.

Story
I am looking for a forever home for my spirited little Bug man. I am heartbroken to have to do this, but my current living situation has made it so I am unable to keep him. Bug has a big personality. He loves to explore, play and snuggle up at your feet after a long day. Bug is definitely good with other cats, but he needs to go to a home that is ready to embrace him entirely. He is very free-spirited. He needs a 100% cat-obsessed home, because he will want to be with his people everywhere they go! He is a sweet, clumsy, cuddly love-bug. What he might lack in brains he makes up for in lots of laughs! XD He needs to be with a cat-loving person or a household of all cat-loving people. No rehoming fee. I just need him to find his forever home with people who can give him the love he deserves.

Story
Cleo is a former stray. She is very slow to warm-up and would do best in a quiet home without dogs or kids. She feels more confident with other cats. When you earn her trust she is very sweet and enjoys chin scratches, but it may take a while to get to that point. Our house is way too loud for her and it is clear that our dogs stress her out. I want her to feel comfortable in her home and be able to open up. Unfortunately, that is not something that this environment is providing her.

Story
Hi my name is Wardess though I will respond better to kitten in the middle of the night or day. I love to meow on the other side of the house for you so I can come running. I have a special diet and I love wet food so make sure not to get me too much though. I love to play no matter what your doing so long as I am not napping. I do love a good cuddle but my job will be best served at the foot of your bed or elsewhere most of the time. I have had a full and rich life but I miss find a owner as my old ones can't keep me 😕. They love me but I want to freely snuggle my persons not at arms length. I am also healthy can can go outside but not during the winter. I look forward to helping my humans look over the new human applications. With much paw love Wardess.
