The noise and commotion rattles this poor fella, and when he's in the play yard he just paces around. He will require a patient, loving and understanding person to allow him to come out of his shell overtime. Rusty will need plenty of time to build trust with his future adopters. Some volunteers sit with him on the leash, and stroke his lustrous coat. He's a bit nervous (who would blame him?) but in no way aggressive. Do you think you could be the person who shows Rusty how wonderful a loving home can be? In order to find him the best home, the shelter may be open to a foster-to-adopt situation.A algunos perros no les va tan bien como a otros en un refugio de animales. Ese es el caso del guapo Rusty. Story
Sofie can be a very sweet dog, but has a lot of anxieties. We are no longer the ideal home for her due to our children's activities and general lifestyle. She has made it clear that she no longer wants to engage with us because she prefers to be outside when we are home. She has lived with cats her whole life but has suddenly decided she does not like them. Our kids cannot practice their musical instruments for school because it scares her. Loud noises and anything out of the ordinary makes her very nervous and kids are unpredictable. She does seem to be ok around mellow teenagers. When she gets upset she likes to shred her dog bed. I don't think she would do this in a more appropriate environment bc she did not do this as a pup. We will provide her crate, leash, harness, food dishes and some food, toys, favorite treats, etc. She would probably do best in a quiet home with a senior or single female who can spend a lot of one on one time with her. She loves walks on her leash.
