Grace is a 2 year old Bordie Collie that is great with adults and kids, she is also house trained. She is very loving dog and likes to sleep or cuddle with you on the couch. She has gotten very possessive with food and people when are other dog is around. Right now we are having to keep them separated, which is why we are trying to re-home her. We haven't had any issues with adults or kids, generally she wants to be right next to them because she loves affection.

Story
HOLY SMOKES! Have you met Smokey!? Smokey is a little more shy than his sister (Sissy), but he sure loves to cuddled in your arms. Smokey is going likely going to be a breed who loves to be ACTIVE. Border collies like to stay busy both physically and mentally. He's already very interested in squeaky toys and would love someone to play with him all of the time as a puppy. If you come to meet them and are interested in Smokey, look for the puppy who has a long tail! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Story
Small, stocky, and sweet as can be? Yes please! Lilo is one of the smallest fully-grown members of the GRHS crew at just 35 lbs. Lilo is learning new skills and is very treat motivated! Lilo would do great in any home but she would especially love to have an active home, whether it's a hiking/ walking partner or running buddy to tag along on adventures with. She didn't even try to trip us while we were running with her! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Story
Sweetest Autumn was found extremely emaciated and with a fractured left front limb requiring amputation. She has recovered amazingly well and steals the hearts of all who meet her! She LOVES playing and interacting with other dogs and enjoys spending time with her humans. She is a smaller size dog with big dog energy (she wrestles/plays with huskies in her foster home). She is currently in training at her foster home learning basic commands - she is super smart and eager to learn! Her ideal home would be willing to give her lots of cuddles, have at least one other dog, and give her activity (playing with other dogs or regular walks). Apply if interested in meeting Autumn! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.

Story
Todd is honestly a wonderful dog. We got him from a farm in De Beque. He does not bark much, only as a warning to us when someone is at the door, or he hears something suspicious. He loves to hike, run alongside me mountain biking, is desperate for walks every day and is very loving. Todd is 6 years old. He needs a home that is very outgoing and active, preferably without young children. The reason we have chosen to rehome him is we simply cannot keep up with his need for activity anymore. If you're looking for a hiking, running or mountain bike buddy, he might be the perfect dog for you!

Story
He is a 3 year old mutt that I adopted when he was 4 months old. Up to date on all his vaccines until March of 2026. I need to rehome him due to my 1 Y/O daughter constantly trying to get into his space. I’m afraid one day she might fall on him or scare him and him react a certain way. He is an amazing dog. Walks great on leash and stays close without a leash as long as theres no other dogs too close. He loves to play fetch, go on walks, go to the park, hikes, and car rides. But when its time to chill inside he loves to lay in his bed and be lazy. He’s been around goats, chickens, horses and has done just fine around them. He would strive best with someone that has NO little kids and NO other dogs. Would do good with older kids that understand to give dogs their space. Makes a great companion, and will follow his person everywhere. But doesnt mind staying home resting. Hoping to find the right person show him all the love !
