Story
Meet Winter! Our guess is that she is an Aussie or Aussie mix. She is visually impaired and deaf, but she has learned to navigate the world beautifully and doesn’t let anything slow her down! She loves chasing the figures in our yard (i.e., children). She is living with other foster animals and seems to understand when they have reached their tolerance limit. She would benefit from professional training and support to give her the tools she needs to be confident and calm in her world. Winter has discovered a path through the house that gets her to water and then the doggie door to get outside. Right now she is eating from an enrichment mat to help her eat more slowly. This girl is pretty smart and uses her nose extremely well - she will follow whoever comes near. In typical puppy fashion, she does not alert yet that she needs to go potty, but if you pay attention, she will potty immediately upon waking up and within a few minutes of eating. She is dog and cat friendly, but is very curious, so would likely do best with a cat with some patience. She could fit nicely into a multi-pet home. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our application here: http://www.rchsks.org/our-animals/adopt-a-pet/adopting-a-dog. By filling out the application you are not committing yourself to adopting; it's a screening process that must be completed before you meet the dog. Please do this BEFORE calling. Story
Meet Pancake! 🥞 She is one of the 7 Aussie or Aussie mix pups dumped on the side of the road. Though she is visually impaired and deaf, you’d never know it by the way she zooms around, follows her people, and throws herself into playtime. She has learned to navigate the world beautifully and doesn’t let anything slow her down! She is working on touch commands, but still has a lot to learn. Visual cues have been tried, but her fosters believe that she is not able to see well enough and touch commands would be a better fit for her. This girl is FULL of energy and personality and highly food motivated. She would thrive in an active home with respectful and patient kids, playful dogs, or anyone ready for adventures and lots of fun! Pancake absolutely loves having friends to romp around with, but when the day is done, she’s more than happy to crash on the couch for snuggles and naps. She is dog and cat friendly, but is very curious, so would likely do best with a cat with some patience, and could fit nicely into a multi-pet home.
