Meet Benson: 45 Pounds of Lap-Dog Delusion! Hi there! I’m Benson, a 2-year-old Border Collie mix weighing in at about 45 pounds. And while the humans insist that 45 pounds is not technically “lap dog” size, I respectfully disagree. If there’s a lap available, I will be applying for the position. Immediately. I’m an incredibly sweet, friendly guy who believes everyone I meet is probably my new best friend. People? LOVE them. Attention? YES, PLEASE. Going for walks? ABSOLUTELY. Running around and burning off some of this fabulous Border Collie energy? SIGN ME UP! I’m an active guy who would love a home where I can get plenty of exercise, adventures, and quality time with my people. After all that activity, I’ll be happy to come inside and supervise whatever you’re doing from approximately three inches away. When it comes to other animals, I’m still figuring things out. I’m **unsure about other dogs and may do best as the only pet in the home. And cats? They have officially been removed from consideration. No cats, please. What I really want is a person or family who will appreciate my big personality, give me some structure and exercise, and let me be the sweet, goofy, affectionate boy I am. 45 pounds? Yes. Thinks he's a lap dog? Absolutely. Loves people? You bet. Ready for walks and adventures? Every day. Cats? Hard pass. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion with a little Border Collie brainpower and a whole lot of heart, Benson would love to meet you! If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.
