I am looking for a new home that can provide him with the time, exercise, structure, and companionship that a young Border Collie needs. Ideally, his new family will be active, patient, and committed to helping him continue to grow and succeed. Patches is a 4 year old male (neutered) border collie that we rescued when he was 4 months old. We love him dearly, but we have small children now and he is best suited for a family with older children and more space. He is a working breed and has lots of energy that requires more time for walks, playing, and a place outside (fenced in) to run. He is best suited for a house, not an apartment/townhouse. He is completely house trained and is good with other dogs once is gets familiar with them. It is very hard for us to part with our dog, but we want to find him the right home that will give him a good, long, happy life.

Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
