Story
SMOKEY came into our rescue after a near death experience on one of the reservations we work with. He is shy with humans, but was being taken care of by a young girl and her family. Once he knows his humans he is playful and affectionate. Thanks to his family asking for help and our ability to step in with emergency veterinary care and rehab, he is alive, happy and healthy today :-) We estimate he's 2 years old. His adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines, deworming and microchip. He is housetrained and crate trained. You must live in our adoption area (Abq, Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, Los Alamos). We look forward to completing your family with a new fur baby! :-)October 13, 2024, 4:58 pm

Story
Maggie is a 9-month-old border collie mix. She is a sweet puppy—very smart and easily trainable. Maggie is both crate-trained and house-trained. She has mastered the "sit" command and is currently working on "stay" and "come." She walks on a leash, although she still exhibits some typical puppy behaviors, such as pulling and occasionally tugging on the leash. Maggie enjoys playing fetch with a tennis ball and loves to chase after a soft Frisbee. She has undergone a complete veterinary check-up, is fully vaccinated, and is on heartworm prevention medication. However, she does not seem to get along with cats, which is the reason for her rehoming. Although she has had limited interactions with other dogs, her few encounters have gone well after a bit of barking and playful behavior. If you're interested in meeting Maggie, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application. Complete an easy, no-obligation online application and take the first step towards welcoming Maggie into your home by clicking on this link https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers all vaccines, spay, microchip, and heartworm/tick-borne illness testing.

Tracker is ready to lead the way to your future along with Travis by his side as they are a bonded pair. This puffball is ready to leave the shelter and enter a home with his brother by his side. That way, they can relax together or go on some walks and at the end of the day enjoy some pets like the good boy he is. And with Travis by his side, there is nothing they can’t conquer. Tracker and Travis` adoption fee is $150. They are SHELTER HERO`s!!! This means that 100% of their higher adoption fee is used to offset the cost of caring for the other animals at the shelter. Also remember by adopting a shelter hero, you not only gain a new best friend but also make a positive impact on the lives of animals and the community as a whole. He is neutered and microchipped and has age-appropriate vaccinations.
