Story
Meet Lovey 5-year-old female Collie mix | 28 lbs Lovey was found as a stray, extremely thin and malnourished. Once she arrived at the proper organization, she was able to receive the veterinary care she desperately needed! Shoutout to Rome Animal Control for all their TLC! Now she’s part of the Rover’s Do Over family and soaking up every bit of love from her foster mom. Lovey is housebroken, crate-trained, friendly, quiet and deeply loving. At night she sleeps on her own bed… or hops up to snuggle with her person. She bonds quickly once you show her love and then she just wants to stay close. She’s far more interested in being with her human than going for walks or playing with toys. Because of that, she would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not. Story
Meet Cowboy! We can't imagine why this sweet, lovable boy entered the shelter as a stray. Since his arrival, Cowboy has been a quiet, gentle guy who is happiest when he can get outside and put his nose to work. He's almost always nose-to-the-ground, taking in all the scents and exploring the world around him. Cowboy can be nervous about new experiences—who isn't?—like getting in the car or being brushed, but he's a quick learner. Once he tries something and realizes it's not so bad, he's much more comfortable the next time around. He's also a very smart boy who will happily sit or lie down for a treat, and he gives the gentlest kisses and sweetest cuddles. When it comes to dog friends, Cowboy isn't sure what to make of overly energetic or persistent dogs. He's done much better with calmer dogs, so any canine companion would need to be a good match for his personality. Based on his cat testing, Cowboy could potentially live with cats. He is very interested in interacting with them and may even try to play, but he isn't the best at recognizing when they've had enough. Any feline friends would need to be comfortable around dogs and have plenty of opportunities to retreat to their own space when they need a break. Cowboy is looking for a home where he can enjoy plenty of time outdoors and settle in with people who appreciate his gentle nature. Could that be you?Current Weight: 52lbsAdoption Fee: $250To apply: fcrspca.org/adopt
