Cats are tested for FIV/FELK. Dogs over 6 months are tested for heartworms and started on HW prevention. Our adoptions include a 30 Day Free Trial period with Trupanion Pet InsuranceWE ARE OPEN for visitors from 12PM - 4PM Tuesday-Saturdays or by APPOINTMENT at other times. We suggest calling prior to visiting our adoption center to ensure the animal you wish to meet is here at our Center (some are in foster care) and still available. If you want to meet an animal that is being fostered an approved application & appointment is required.We will call or email you the status of your application once it is processed. Nothing will be processed on Sundays or Mondays.All our pets are posted online and we continue to take applications until they are actually adopted. We adopted Pepper from a rescue 5-6 years ago. She is an absolutely wonderful pet - cuddles, licks, plays, etc etc and is great with our family and kids. We are unfortunately unable to give her the attention she needs. Her issue that is causing us to rehome is that she is overly protective of our home and property. She barks intensely and acts out toward any strangers to her who come to our property, and this includes the kids on our street who are now scared of her. It is unfair to my son and his friends that they can’t play outside around our house due to her uneasiness and defensiveness towards strangers. This really is the only issue but it is big enough for us to need to rehome. We feel someone that could give her more attention and exercise and meet her needs would be better fit for her. She would be wonderful for a family that has some more property, as we are in a neighborhood.

What can I say about this beautiful girl Blue. After being at the shelter for several months waiting for her owner, the owner decided to surrender her. She gets the best grin award for the shelter! This sweet gal loves to go on walks. She likes some dogs but is a little picky. We had such fun taking her pics today! She is a 4 yr old blue heeler mix who weighs 43 lbs. Heartworm positive but Shelter Volunteer Network has a program to pay for her treatment.
