Story
Meet Bogie, a remarkable resident of our local shelter. His demeanor is as sweet as a sugar cookie, and he's as curious as a detective on a case. Bogie's intelligence shines through in the way he interacts with the world around him, always eager to learn and explore. He's a pro at walking on a leash, making him an excellent companion for leisurely strolls or brisk jogs. Bogie is more than just a shelter dog; he's a friend waiting to share in life's joys and comforts. Adopt Bogie and enrich your life with his sweet nature, curious mind, and intelligent companionship.Long walks or fenced in back yard is always the best environment for dogs, but exercise is the main goal. We can test our dogs with other dogs at the shelter, but not every dog may get along with your dog this is why if you do have a pet at home we strongly suggest meet and greets before adopting. When adopting an animal at the shelter please know the responsibility of an animal. Most of the animals at the shelter have come in as a stray which mean they may not know how to sit or stay. They also might not have manners such as not to jump. Adopting takes patience. Please research the dog breed you are interested in and remember it takes time. Refer to the sheltering 3/3/3 rule of adopting for help.

Story
Whiskey is a beautiful dog. To be one years old he is a very smart dog and highly energetic and he loves to play with his toysWe have tried to keep him but there is no way we can. My wife getting ready to have hip replaced and she also has other medical issues. As for myself I have an auto immune disease that attacks my kidneys and I recently received news that my kidneys not doing so good. My specialist is in Asheville NC and I’m having to drive there at least once a month. I’m leaving the dog at key boarding when I’m go see Dr. it’s starting to get really expensive. I’m at the point that I can’t afford to take him there anymore Yes our age is also getting up there and I’m afraid he is gonna knock my wife down and hurt her. We are at wits end as to what to do but if I can’t find him a home soon I guess I will call the animal shelter

Story
Tucker is an 8 month old Border Collie / Australian Shepherd (DOB: 7/28/23). He is incredibly affectionate and loves to be by your side. He is great with other dogs and adores children. He has not been exposed to cats so I do not know how he would be around them. He loves to play and would make a lovely addition to any family. He is crate trained and will whine to let you know he needs to go outside. We are still working on leash training. He is not a fan as he does not like to leave the yard. He does not need a leash and will not leave my yard. He knows basic commands such as sit and lay down. He is UTD on shots and I will provide his records. He is also microchipped. The only reason I am rehoming him is due to an unexpected move.
