Story
Oscar started out life with a family who didn’t know how to care for an energetic dog but now loves his foster home. He has a big back yard to run around in, and other dogs to run and play with. He has lots of energy and needs a family who will play with him, take him for long walks, hikes or even on a run. He loves to snuggle and his foster family is working on his manners. He is very smart and has learned sit “down” to get more attention. He is curious about cats, but learns quickly that some cats don’t want to be chased. He will soon come inside to learn more about house training. If you are looking for a companion who will love you furever, Oscar is the pup for you.

Story
Meet Zelly! Zelly really has quite the story. He came to Hound Dog Holler from Memphis Animal Services and needed help quick. He had skull fractures from being beaten with a shovel. Although this was a sad part of Zelly's life, everything is looking up for him now! He's been at the farm since early May and is enjoying life. Trusting people has taken some time, but he's getting better at it. He does well with other dogs too once he gets to know them. Zelly was born for the farm life. He wants to work with you, hop in the truck, and help you with your chores. He does well around livestock too. If you're interested in Zelly, please reach out and give him the next chapter that he deserves.

Story
French Toast (or Ghost as he is called in his foster home) is as sweet as the name implies! He’s got the puppy dog eyes perfected and will use them to their full potential when he puts his head in your hands to ask for pets. He’s a sensitive soul. It may take Ghost some time to warm up to you as this little guy seems to have had a rough life before he came to us. He can be skittish until he gets to know you and seems to be warier of men, but once he feels safe, he’ll be your shadow. Due to his skittish nature, he would do best in a home with another dog to help build his confidence and a securely fenced yard to keep him safe while he adjusts to his new home and learns to trust his human. Ghost loves other dogs and would love a friend to wrestle, play chase around the yard with and maybe engage in some tug of war! He is still a puppy and enjoys performing exploratory surgeries on his toys when he gets bored. He is potty trained and uses the dog door in his foster home like a champ. Ghost prefers to be allowed to sleep in bed with his human rather than a crate at night, which he has been allowed to do since he’s still learning the crate is a safe place. He is also slowly working on learning that leashes are not scary. Speaking of learning, he’s a smart guy and quick to catch on to commands provided you’ve got the treatos to keep his attention. He already learned “sit” and “down” in his first week with his foster and knows his name. Ghost is particularly fond of cheese and tiny hot dog pieces. Oh and whipped cream. He loves the sound of the whipped cream can! He’s a bit of a foodie and will try to wear you down with his sweet face for a taste of your food. Ghost would do best in a home where he could receive plenty of love and attention at his own pace. He can be a shy guy, but trust us, his love is worth the wait.

Story
Meet Effie! 🐾 Effie is a brilliant, high-energy Border Collie mix who’s ready to find her perfect forever home! This girl is super smart and absolutely thrives when she has a job to do. She already knows lots of commands and loves nothing more than showing them off—especially if training time means bonding with her favorite people. Effie will do best in a home that can keep up with her both physically and mentally. Daily exercise, enrichment, and continued training will make her shine (and she loves to shine). In return, you’ll get an incredibly affectionate, sweet pup who adores her people and forms strong bonds. She does great with other dogs who can match her energy and play style, making her a fantastic companion for an active household. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, whip-smart partner to join you on life’s adventures, Effie might just be your girl. 💕

Story
Jazz is a gentle soul who may take a moment to warm up—but once she does, she’s all about pets, snuggles, and quiet love. When she feels safe, her personality shines: she bounds around the backyard like a little bunny, plays happily with other dogs, chews contentedly on her favorite bones, and somehow manages to steal every toy in the room. She’s fully housebroken and does wonderfully in her crate, which is her cozy safe space both day and night. Jazz is just looking for a patient, loving human she can learn to trust—someone who will give her the time she needs and love her endlessly in return.

Story
I am heartbroken to have to rehome our Border Collie Mango. My spouse and I are going through a separation and I cannot bring him and my three young children into an apartment. He is a true purebred border, that requires a lot of exercise and will run out of gates if he is too bored. He gets along great with other dogs, especially those around his size that he can wrestle with, and I have trusted him with two fresh babies. He is very sensitive and responds best with positive reinforcement, and whoever had him before me tried to use a shock collar and he will hit the floor with certain beeps around the house. He does not do well with cats, horses, or chickens. Please reach out if you think he may be a good addition to your family!
