MEET JACK - A LOVER, NOT A FIGHTER.
Y'all, Jack is breaking my heart a little bit because this is a dog who has been VERY, VERY loved.
Jack is a 5-year-old Pyrenees/Collie mix. He's neutered, heartworm negative, house trained, well-mannered and basically already knows how to be somebody's beloved family dog.
And Jack has quite the résumé.
Great with other dogs
Great with kids
Great with cats
Has lived peacefully with chickens, turkeys and guineas
LOVES car rides
House trained
Knows sit, down, walk, wait and come
Loves treat puzzles
Professional morning nose-booper
Jack originally came to his family because they thought he'd be a working dog on their farm.
Jack had other plans.
Apparently, Jack took one look at farm labor and decided his true calling was indoor family dog, couch potato and professional snuggler.
He didn't want a job. He wanted a sofa.
He likes to eat. He likes to lounge. He likes to love his people and be loved right back.
And, well... it shows. 😂❤️
Our boy is a little portly, so his next family will need to help him lose some weight with regular walks, exercise and probably slightly fewer snacks.
But here's the heartbreaking part.
His family eventually brought in two working Collies, and they began bullying Jack. Jack simply wouldn't fight back. They picked on him, and this sweet boy just took it.
Because Jack is a lover, not a fighter.
His family loved him dearly, but ultimately made the painful decision to surrender him because the situation wasn't fair or safe for Jack anymore.
So now this very loved, very spoiled, very good boy is sitting in a shelter wondering where his family went.
Jack isn't a dog who needs someone to teach him how to live in a home.
He already knows.
He knows couches and car rides. He knows kids and cats. He knows farm animals. He knows commands and treat puzzles. He knows what it feels like to be part of a family.
And every morning, he'll even give you a little nose boop to remind you he's there.
Jack just needs someone willing to give him that life again.
