MEET KIA – Smart dog from herding lines Kia is a wonderful 1 year old red border collie. She is 25-30 lbs. Kia wants nothing more than to go to work and come home to a nice quiet space. She comes from strong, competitive herding lines, but doesn’t fit into her former owner’s herding program. Kia lived on a cattle ranch. Her foster took her to a herding instinct evaluation. Check out the video! Kia is very drivey. She would love to go to a working home where she could put her instincts to good use. Kia needs a quiet space as new noises can be scary, but she has been getting better with this in her foster home. Kia is on the submissive side. She is dog friendly and loves people. She is leash trained, crate trained and does great in the car. She has not shown any resource guarding behaviors. She seems to be potty trained but needs patience when she goes out (sometimes she is distracted and forgets to go). She is smart and ready to learn! KIA DOES WELL WITH: • Other dogs – Kia grew up around other dogs. She is comfortable and happy with both male and female dogs. • Cats – She has done well with cats both indoors and outdoors. She loves cats and does not chase them. • People – Kia is a sensitive girl but likes people. KIA WOULD NEED HELP WITH: • Poultry and horses – Fast movement excites Kia. She will chase and try to work chickens and horses, but with proper training, we feel that she could learn boundaries. • Sound sensitivity – Kia is a sensitive girl who is learning to be comfortable in new environments. THE REST OF THE IMPORTANT DETAILS Kia was recently spayed, microchipped, and brought up to date on her vaccinations. She is currently being fostered in Shelton, WA. Her adoption fee is $400. Dolly is an approximately 3-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix. This lovely little girl is very observant and sensitive. She may proceed with caution at first but warms up fairly quickly. She will watch from a distance or sit in one place when taking in something new and then interact when she is ready. She runs right over when someone familiar enters the yard. Dolly loves belly rubs and will stare affectionately into your eyes as you pet her. Dolly is considered medium to mellow level energy-wise. Dolly has done well with other dogs and likes to play hard with her brother. She has tried hard to get the foster’s cat and older dog to play but has respected them when they don't want to engage. She shows some instinct to chase things that move quickly. Dolly is being crate trained and potty trained and is doing well on both. She does some alert barking. She likes toys and chews. She will take treats but isn’t super treat motivated. Her recall is fair but needs some work. But then, she is only 3 months old and, as with any pup, will need further training. Dolly presently weighs about 16 lb. She is being fostered in the Hood River, Oregon. Dolly has been wormed, microchipped, and has had her first set of vaccinations The adoption fee is $400. He has no aggression.    He loves toys, bones, dog beds and doggie blankets. He is crate trained. He is a great companion for an active family with a secure fence, polite/ calm children  and another dog (or only dog but with constant socializing with other dogs).  Mixed Bully breed  experience is recommended.  He is an indoor dog.  He will like walks and dog training/doggie daycare.
