Story
I got Basil when I was in high school when she was just about 8 weeks old. She’s been an amazing dog, and is a very sweet girl. Within the last 1.5 years, shortly after having my daughter, Basil has experienced severe skin issues and weight loss. Her skin sheds everyday, all day long, as she scratches herself until told to stop. Then gets right back to scratching… I’ve changed her diet, given her different medications prescribed by a vet, along with an allergy shot and a steroid shot. Nothing I’ve done has helped, and I cannot afford to care for her anymore. It saddens my family and I to say goodbye to Basil, but for her health we have to let go. Whoever adopts Basil needs to understand there WILL be vet testing and medication cost for her.

Welcome Ollie to Murci's Mission. This fine sporting mix came to Murci's Mission from our friends at Becky's Best Buddies. He is approximately 55lbs with an estimated birthdate of 12/07/2024.  Ollie is social to dogs and kids with a biddable disposition. He is high energy and would love an active family who enjoys running or hiking, or an adopter interested in sports like agility, flyball, dock diving, barn hunt, nose work etc. He is rowdy and jumps on people at times so would do best with children who are ok with some knocking around. He is not suitable in a home with cats.  Please begin by submitting an application at www.murcismission.org. Ollie's adoption fee is $200, and he comes home fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and neutered. 🏠Currently in a Toronto foster home I might be a mix, but I’ve got the best of both worlds — the smarts of a Border Collie and the focus of a Jindo. I’m clever, full of energy, and once I love you, I love you with all my heart. I was born in an old abandoned house, far from people and care. But when I was just 3 months old, kind humans rescued me and brought me to a warm, safe foster home. That’s where I spent the first 2 years of my life, learning what it means to be loved and to live indoors. Due to some changes in my foster family’s life, I had to move to a training center. At first, everything was unfamiliar and a little scary… but I surprised everyone by adjusting quickly! Now I get along great with the trainers, and I love learning new things. I’m really good at understanding people — not just their words, but their feelings too. When I meet someone new, I might hesitate for a moment. But give me a little time and kindness, and you’ll see the real me — sweet, affectionate, and even a little silly. I also get along well with other dogs and know how to play nicely without causing trouble. I love walks and being outdoors, and I’m happiest when I can explore the world with someone I trust. After some fun and exercise, I’m more than happy to relax quietly at home. I’ve got a calm, sensitive side too. I’ve spent most of my life around women, so I might be a bit shy around men at first. But please don’t worry — with patience and gentle care, I’ll come closer, lean in, and show you how much love I have to give. What I’m really looking for is someone who’s ready to build a bond — who’ll walk with me, talk with me, and understand that trust takes time but grows deep. Meet our miracle dog Amelia! "Airport" Amelia had been reported as a stray at SeaTac airport mid-December, from parking garages to the cargo plane area — somehow managing to survive completely uninjured in one of the busiest, most dangerous places imaginable, and despite many efforts to save her she remained on the loose. Thanks to James Branson of 3Retrievers (yes, the same James who recently helped us search for Greer!) she was saved. James had limited access at the airport and was looking for help, which fortunately, we had! Thanks to one of our adopters, we were able to put James in touch with the right people to get access to more areas, and James was able to trap Amelia. Amelia was not microchipped and had no collar or ID, so she was seen at RASKC, has been released from stray hold, and is ready for her forever home! Amelia will need a patient adopter who is willing to allow for decompression while being extremely cautious as to her being a "flight" risk (Yes, pun intended!). Amelia will be adopted with a tracking collar provided by the rescue, and will be sharing her adoption donation with James and 3Retrievers. Amelia has been Microchipped, Spayed and Vaccinated included in her adoption donation. Amelia will be adopted to a home with a secure fenced yard of at least 6' in height.
