MEET VADER – A true gentleman! Are you looking for a dog who is gentle and sweet, with soulful eyes? Vader is the perfect combination of active companion and couch potato! He will sprawl out in front of the couch while his foster family watches TV. Vader also loves to go on casual walks, energetic jogs and long hikes- no pulling the leash! He copies your mood and just enjoys being with company. He truly is a sweetie. When he’s really very happy, his tail doesn’t just wag, it goes in circles like a helicopter! Vader is a beautiful 3-year-old Border Collie mix. He weighs 55 lbs. He is potty trained and has learned crate training while in foster. Vader knows how to sit, down, up, speak, fetch, and walk nicely on a leash. He learns quickly and is eager to please. Vader is a true gentleman! VADER DOES WELL WITH: • Young Kids – Vader has lived with a 1-year-old baby/toddler and a 12-year-old child very happily. • Adults – Vader is friendly with adults. VADER WOULD NEED HELP WITH: • Learning to trust – When Vader is in a new situation, it takes him a little time to become comfortable. Once you build that relationship, he blossoms! • Other dogs – Vader had a female Golden Retriever friend at his last house and has done well with his current foster’s son’s dogs (a male and a female, both large). He has not been around small dogs. When Vader first came into HUNAH, we were told that he was reactive on leash. We think that he is more excited when seeing dogs. He turns back to tug on his leash, which shows the ability to redirect his excitement. We believe that a patient owner could work through this issue. Vader would need to meet other dogs in the household before placement. • Cats – Fast movement excites Vader. He has chased cats, so a cat-free home or a very slow, structured introduction would be best. VADER IS UNKNOWN WITH: • Horses and Livestock – Vader has no experience. Theo is a spunky, goofy, sensitive, athletic, inquisitive, and loving bundle of joy. He loves to play with the ball, splash in the kiddie pool, charge through a field or across the dog park, and snack on ice cubes. He is very high energy most of the day and attaches deeply to his person and to anyone else who shows him love. He needs space to run and stimulation during the day. He has the cutest speckles behind his ear. He’s also incredibly rugged and loves to adventure. He’s deeply loyal and trusting. He loves other dogs, he babies his cats and follows them around, and he gets so excited to hang out with kids- my six year old niece is his favorite. Theo is two, and I’ve never been quite able to teach him not to jump up when he’s excited to see someone, we all have our flaws. He knows sit, stay, lie down, and get back (which is handy when playing fetch). Theo just needs more time and companionship than I can give him now in this chapter of my life. Run, don’t walk and snatch this cutie up before you lose out on the opportunity because Tassie Sugar won’t be available long! When we say she is absolute perfection, please believe it! Tassie Sugar personality is by far the sweetest and she has the best well-balanced energy. Not only is her personality the absolute best but she’s also stinking adorable! I mean, just look at that forever puppy dog face, those cute freckles on her nose, and the fluff! Y’all the fluff is to die for. The kind of fluffy that makes her irresistibly squishy. You almost can’t help but want to squeeze her because she’s that cute. One of the very first things that we noticed about Tassie is her energy level!! We are guessing she might have be border collie or maybe even blue heeler and they are known for having a ton of energy and need so much exercise and stimulation. Not Tassie though! She actually has a pretty relaxed demeanor and is so mellow! Of course, she still has some energy, she’s not a total couch potato (unless you want her to be because she will absolutely be a total couch girl if you want). She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. It’s a given this bundle of joy is absolutely adorable and such a happy gal, but she is so much more than that. She loves every person she meets and truly knows no stranger! Connections with Tassie are instantaneous. When people first meet her, they immediately comment on how adorable and friendly she is. The most common phrase used by everyone who meets her is something along the lines of how sweet and friendly she is. Tassie is such a go-with-the-flow type of girly who is happy regardless of where she is or who she is with. It’s almost impossible not to immediately fall for her friendly and goofy personality. Tassie is super dog friendly and has gotten along great with every dog we have introduced her to and is currently being fostered in a multi dog home. She’s been with super dominant males, dominant females, really shy and shutdown dogs, dogs that like to roughhouse, play chase, dogs that just like to hangout and do their own thing, and she’s been a perfect princess with them all. She does great meeting dogs on leash and even does great meeting dogs off leash as well. Tassie loves making friends with other dogs and already has amazing social skills. She is good about matching the energy of the other dogs. She will play when play is invited and will enjoy those relaxing hangout moments too. When she does play, she has a very gentle playstyle and enjoys running around playing games of chase rather than physical rumble tumble play. Tassie shares affection with other dogs too, no jealousy here and she is also comfortable sharing treats around other dogs as well. She is just a sweet baby that has such a go with the flow personality. We would love to see her in a home with another dog, but she would be completely fine as your one and only as well. Tassie also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Tassie is already so well behaved and according to her foster, already has wonderful house manners too. She is mastering her leash skills and comes prepped already knowing a couple of basic commands such as sit and down. She loves treats, is eager to please, and has already proven she’s a smart little girl. The perfect trifecta for any additional training you would like to do with her in the future. It’ll be an enjoyable bonding experience for you both. Her foster reports that she has not had one accident in the house and never gave the impression of even attempting. Tassie would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can romp around, stretch her legs, play with her toys, and relax in the sun. She also has the potential of thriving in an apartment/condo setting as well with the proper exercise and socialization. She doesn’t need much but a long walk to the park, a place where she can play fetch, or even in-home mental stimulation puzzles. She would love that too. In all honesty though, she is completely happy being a total couch potato as well. So get ready for lazy Sunday movie marathon snuggles with Tassie because that’s what’s going to happen. She’ll enjoy mini adventures as well, just be prepared to be stopped by everyone because she’s so stinking cute. Tassie is the best of both worlds in our eyes. Meet Hanni   • Name: Hanni • Age: 2 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Border Collie Mix • Color: Black & White • Weight: 13 kg • Height (shoulder): 45 cm   Rescue Story In February 2025, Hanni and another dog were abandoned at a slaughterhouse by their owner. After the facility shut down, they were transferred to a municipal shelter. Hanni was rescued in March 2025 and has been preparing for her forever home ever since.   ‍‍ Social with People Hanni is incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. She happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, leaning in for pets and attention without hesitation. She enjoys being held, shows her belly once comfortable, and loves physical affection.   She has been gentle with children around 13 years old, though she has not been tested with infants or toddlers.   In unfamiliar environments such as the vet, she may become nervous and resist handling—especially around sensitive areas like her hindquarters. However, in her foster home, she does very well with grooming, baths, nail trims, and daily care routines.   She loves interactive play with people, including tug and fetch, and truly thrives on human companionship.   Social with Other Dogs Hanni is curious and interested in other dogs, often wanting to approach and greet them during walks. She is currently learning to wait and practice better leash manners.   Because she can be a bit forward, she may come across as overly enthusiastic or “rude” to some dogs. She can be pushy with smaller dogs, so supervision is important. With larger dogs, she tends to be more respectful.   Once comfortable in an open environment, she plays well and currently coexists nicely with her foster dog. However, if provoked, she may engage in conflict, so careful introductions to new dogs are recommended.   With Cats Hanni shows curiosity toward cats during walks but follows her handler well when redirected. She may try to chase birds.   Energy Level As a Border Collie mix, Hanni has a higher-than-average energy level. She benefits greatly from regular outdoor exercise and mental stimulation such as training, games, or enrichment activities.   ‍ Walking & Exercise Hanni is currently working on loose-leash walking. She tends to pull, especially when excited or when she sees other dogs. She enjoys running more than slow walks and may vocalize (bark or make sounds) when excited.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Eats well with no picky habits • Crate trained (eats and rests comfortably in crate) • Travels well, including long car rides • Rarely barks, but may bark when playing or seeking attention • Does not bark at visitors   Training Hanni knows: Sit Down Stay Paw Speak House (crate command)   She is smart, eager to engage, and will thrive with continued training and structure.   Ideal Home Hanni would do best with an active adopter who can match her energy and provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation.
