Story
Meet Heidi – A Clever Companion Looking for Her Person Born on March 30, 2023, Heidi is a smart, thoughtful girl who’s looking for her person - the one she can bond with deeply and explore the world beside. She may be a little reserved at first, but once she knows she’s safe, her loyal and affectionate side shines through. Heidi is highly intelligent and picks up on routines quickly. She thrives in a home with structure, consistency, and someone who enjoys engaging her mind as much as her heart. She’s playful and funny once she’s comfortable, and she loves having a purpose - whether it’s adventuring outside, learning something new, or just being your steady shadow. Heidi can be a bit cautious with new people or environments, so she’ll need an adopter who can be patient during that initial adjustment period. But for the right person, Heidi is the kind of dog who becomes deeply devoted. Her ideal home includes an active adopter who enjoys walks, hikes, and quality one-on-one time. She may prefer being the only dog or matched with a calm, respectful canine companion. With the right fit, Heidi will absolutely blossom. If you're looking for a loyal, clever, and heart-forward companion who just needs a little time to trust, Heidi might be your perfect match.   At Path of Hope Rescue, we understand that “Fur-st Impressions” are very important! To see if Heidi would be the perfect fit for you and your family, schedule a meet and greet before applying by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com. (A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Heidi’s adoption.)    What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters). Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.  Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.  Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.  Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. ##2400306##

Story
Bruno was my nephew’s dog and came to us after my nephew passed away unexpectedly. I don’t know much of his history. We did get him neutered to hopefully help find him a new home. Bruno is pretty standoffish at first but will let you pet him after some time. He does not get along with cats and has had a few minor tussles with other dogs.

Story
Meet Piper – Your Loyal, Playful Companion! Piper is a 1.5-year-old, 65-pound sweetheart living in Portland, OR. With a calm, playful personality and a heart full of love, she’s happiest when she’s near her people—with a toy in her mouth and a smile on her face. She’s affectionate, confident, and friendly with both people and animals. Piper does great with cats, most dogs, and even livestock (though chickens may need supervision). She loves playing with dog friends, and while she’s still learning how to manage her excitement on leash, she’s making great progress. Piper is house-trained, not destructive, and enjoys car rides, swimming, and outdoor adventures. She’s food-motivated, knows basic commands, and is working on her leash manners. She gives the best welcome-home hugs—standing on her back legs to nuzzle your face like she missed you all day. Her ideal home? A calm environment with someone home most of the time, maybe with another dog and room to roam. She’d thrive with an outdoorsy person or couple who’ll take her hiking or swimming. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key adventure buddy with a heart of gold, Piper is ready to be your new best friend.

Story
Zodiak is a 7 year old great companion. He's affectionate, He smiles at you when you come home from work. He is always ready to go do whatever you are up to whether it's hiking, mountain biking, a walk in the neighborhood or suggling up to watch a movie. He loves a good game of fetch with a ball or stick or whatever you can find. He is housebroken and can stay alone uncrated for long periods of time with no accidents as long as you take him outside to potty before you leave. He loves cats and is fine with them. He is usually nice with other dogs but he is protective of his toys and food so sometimes there can be fights. That's why I don't recommend other dogs in the home. He is a herding dog by nature so little kids he will try to herd. 10 and older are a better fit. He needs a fenced yard. He is good on a leash. He knows sit and stay and will shake hands for a treat. He's really a great dog. He is desperate for a new home that can love and care for him.

Story
Shadow is the sweetest boy you can meet, he was raised by cats so he’s very quiet but will paw you for pets. He is crate trained but loves cuddles and will sleep with you if you let him. Walks are his favorite and he does get a bit excited when he hears is leash come down. He is gentle with my 4 year old as they grew up together so he’s been around all baby stages. I just want him to go to a loving home that will welcome this sweet boy and show him kindness as we have as well. It is with a heavy heart that I make this post today and wish I could keep him forever but I know he deserves a family who can care and provide for him the way he deserves.
