Story
Born approx. June 2020, Edwinn is a male Border Collie. He came to us afraid of the outside world and lacking confidence. He has made marked improvements in his foster home and is now ready to find his forever family. Edwinn is potty and crate trained. He is happiest when he is with his people and other dogs, for this reason, we will require Edwinn goes to a home with another confident dog to continue giving him guidance and reassurance. Edwinn needs a home with a secure 6 foot fence and one that will keep him active and mentally stimulated, breed experience is a huge bonus.Edwinn will do best in a home with adults or adults and kids over 5. It is unknown how he would do around cats. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Connor is ready for a home of his own! This boy is was born December 2018 and is a Border Collie mix. Connor struggles with insecurities and has a hard time meeting new people-but let me tell you that once you’ve made his “friends list” it’s for life! He will never let you down or leave you alone 😂😂 Connor will require a home with another confident canine companion, he does best with canine friends in his home to show him what’s okay. While he currently lives with dog savvy cats, he may not do well with new feline friends. Connor is not a dog that will ever enjoy going to dog parks, outdoor eateries, etc. That's not his scene. He prefers being with his family at home. He's an introvert's dream dog! 😉 He needs a calmer home with structure and routine, for this reason, a home without young children is best. Connor is potty, leash, and crate trained. He is still working on basic commands like sit, down, etc. He loves chew toys and treats. He will play tug-o-war but hasn't mastered fetch. We do require home ownership and a 6 foot fenced yard-no children under age 10. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Meet Stevie Nicks! She is a female Border Collie/American Staffordshire Terrier mix born approx. May 2017. Here is a little bit about her: she came into our program injured and wandering in a field. It appeared she had been attacked by another animal. Since that time she’s come a long way baby! She knows basic commands such as sit and shake, and is highly intelligent. She would do well with an owner who will continue with her training so she can be the best dog she can be. She can be talkative and is other dog selective. Cats are unknown. Stevie Nicks loves to play in the water and squeaky balls. Her forever home will require a secure 6 foot fence with adults or adults and children over 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Fabio is a gentle soul. He came into rescue from Tri City Animal Control. He was born approximately March 2020 - best guess. He is a collie mix. We don’t know much about his past but this poor soul has at least 13 BB pellets in his skull. He also has some mild separation anxiety and would love a person/family around a lot. He currently lives with many other dogs of all sizes, but he is most happy when just with people. He has not been around cats so we cannot determine compatibility. He is crate trained (but prefers a sofa, chair or your bed), housebroken and has good leash manners. He adores the attention of children and will happily roll onto his back for belly rubs 😊 We do recommend children over age 5 and preference given to a fenced yard. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Super-cuddly Rolo Cocoapup wiggles with joy when his special someone comes home. He is always just so happy to see you! He's making great progress with his potty training - he knows to go to the door and ask when he wants out ... and he's also the first to ask to come inside, so he can be back with you. HISTORY The five Cocoapups were very young babies when they were dumped on a country road near Prosser, in Eastern Washington, in early September. A rescuer took them in and called on HART for help. We were able to place them in a foster home after a few weeks, and they have been growing and thriving ever since. We have no way of knowing what breed they are, but based on their look and demeanor we're guessing they contain a good percentage of medium-sized herding breeds. Heeler and Border Collie seem like a good guess, but based on their markings they may also have some Doberman or German Shepherd. SOCIALIZATION The Cocoapups are happy pups who adore their foster mama. They tend to be shy of strangers and will run and hide when visitors come. Their foster mom is working with them on this, but their adopters need to expect to continue the work of socializing them to new people. They share their foster home with several other dogs, both large and small. They're playful and friendly with the dogs that enjoy their company - especially their big old German Shepherd foster brother - and they're cautiously respectful toward the dogs that don't welcome puppy bounciness. There are ducks and chickens in their foster home, and they love to sit and watch them. They're inquisitive, but seem to have very little prey drive. TEMPERAMENT, BEHAVIOR & TRAINING These babies are playful, moderately energetic, and interested in the world. They are exceptionally snuggly, and soak up any loves that are offered. Although they've been raised mainly outdoors, due to lack of space inside the foster mom's house, they get to spend a lot of time each day indoors. They understand no, and come when called. They are not yet potty trained, but several are starting to ask to go outside when they need to. They are quiet pups who rarely bark, and will hide rather than challenging anything scary. They will probably do best in homes with a confident, relaxed, friendly older canine sibling to show them how to dog. Most importantly, THE COCOAPUPS ARE PUPPIES! Puppies are HARD WORK! They have sharp claws and needle teeth. They chew things, they dig in the yard, and they believe the whole world is their toybox. These babies have been loved and cared for in their foster home, but they still have everything to learn about being civilized indoor dogs. Please don't apply to adopt a Cocoapup unless you are up for the work of potty-training, teaching them the difference between their stuff (can chew) and yours (leave it), teaching them not to jump up on people, teaching them manners, taking them through at least basic training, and ensuring they don't hurt themselves or destroy anything you really care about in the process. PHYSICAL & HEALTH STATUS Based on their teeth and the fact that they could barely lap water, we estimate that they were maybe six weeks old when we took them in. We have assigned them July 23, 2023 as their birthday. They appear to be in good overall health, and have been vaccinated, treated for intestinal parasites, and microchipped. We expect them to weigh 40-60 lbs when full-grown. HART does not support pediatric spay and neuter. We believe, based on current research, that pups develop best when they have an uninterrupted supply of sex hormones for at least the first five months of their lives. The Cocoapups' adopters will be contractually obligated to ensure that their pup is sterilized between five months and one year. HART will refund $100 - equivalent to the cost of sterilization by our usual veterinary clinic - when you provide proof that your pup has been sterilized. ADOPTION INFORMATION The Cocoapups are living in a private home, and will be available to meet you after your adoption application has been approved. Please email HearthfireART@gmail.com to request an adoption application form. Story
Hella is a Hanging Tree dog bread to herd cattle or other animals. We ordered her online from a Ranch in Missouri. She was born October 25th. She is 5 months old. We have a busy schedule and another puppy so she is not getting the time and attention she needs. She is full of energy and loves playing with our dogs. She fetches and goes on walks. She knows how to sit and is almost potty trained.
