Born approx. June 2020, Edwinn is a male Border Collie. He came to us afraid of the outside world and lacking confidence. He has made marked improvements in his foster home and is now ready to find his forever family. Edwinn is potty and crate trained. He is happiest when he is with his people and other dogs, for this reason, we will require Edwinn goes to a home with another confident dog to continue giving him guidance and reassurance. Story
Connor is ready for a home of his own! This boy is was born December 2018 and is a Border Collie mix. Connor struggles with insecurities and has a hard time meeting new people-but let me tell you that once you’ve made his “friends list” it’s for life! He will never let you down or leave you alone 😂😂 Connor would do well with a confident canine companion but would also be fine as an only dog. While he currently lives with dog savvy cats, he may not do well with new feline friends. Connor is not a dog that will ever enjoy going to dog parks, outdoor eateries, etc. That's not his scene. He prefers being with his family at home. He's an introvert's dream dog! 😉 He needs a calmer home with structure and routine, for this reason, a home without young children is best. Connor is potty, leash, and crate trained. He is still working on basic commands like sit, down, etc. He loves chew toys and treats. He will play tug-o-war but hasn't mastered fetch. We do require home ownership and a 6 foot fenced yard-no children under age 10. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Meet Sagemoor (also known as "Sage")! This gorgeous girl was born approximately May 3, 2021 and our best guess to breed is a Brittany Spaniel possibly Border Collie mix. She was found by a Franklin County Sheriff dumped out near Columbia River Rd in Pasco WA. An amazing volunteer went to get to her. While initially hesitant, she was eventually leashed and loaded into the car heading for a new life! She has spent time at Mattox Dog Training Academy and is ready to find her forever family! Sage is a VERY active dog, if you are a runner /hiker avid outdoor person, she’s your girl. She loves to run and get her zoomies out and is very obedient - eager to please! She will take a bit to warm up to new people but her love is deep once she does. She is the absolute best cuddle buddy, the sofa is her preferred cuddle zone. Sage will do well as an only dog or with other canine companions - she seems to prefer males. Her best fit home will be one with adults or adults and kids over the age of 8, and one with a fully fenced yard. Apply for Sage at www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Zion is a soft, thoughtful puppy with a gentle heart and a quiet sweetness that really shines once he feels safe. This bully mix boy takes in the world with a little bit of caution at first, but behind that is a loving, loyal companion just waiting to connect. Once he warms up, Zion is incredibly affectionate and will happily soak up all the love you have to give. 💛 HISTORY Zion’s DOB is listed as 12/20/2025. He comes from an accidental litter of at least seven puppies. His original family worked hard to place the litter, but ultimately needed help with the remaining pups. Five of his siblings were taken in by another local rescue, while Zion and his brother Eli came to us so we could share the responsibility of helping this large group find homes. Zion is now thriving in foster care in Tri-Cities, Eastern Washington, where he’s getting the structure, socialization, and consistency every puppy deserves. We share our dogs in other locations to give them the best chance at finding the right home. Zion is absolutely worth the trip, and we encourage meet-and-greets for approved adopters. SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING Zion is a sweet and sensitive puppy who is learning about the world one step at a time. He can be a little cautious when meeting new people, but with a bit of patience and kindness, he warms up and shows his affectionate, loving nature. He is being raised in a home with older dog siblings and benefits greatly from their guidance. They are helping him learn boundaries, appropriate play, and how to navigate new situations. Zion also enjoys playing with other puppies and would do well in a home with another balanced, confident dog to help continue building his confidence. Zion is making great progress with both crate training and potty training. He is learning to go outside when let out and is starting to understand kennel routines—he may protest a little at first, but settles in with time. He’s a smart pup who is already picking up on structure and expectations. Bath time can make him a little unsure, but he handles it well and continues to gain confidence with gentle exposure and reassurance. Zion is just a baby; he is young and eager to learn how to be a good family dog. He’d love you to take him to school so he can learn ALL the skills he needs to be his best self. This would be beneficial for you as his pet parent(s) as well so that you can learn to communicate effectively with him and teach him to be confident. It’s important to remember: Zion is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! This little one is just getting started - he has sharp nails and needle teeth and loves to pounce on shoes and grab hold and tug on anything that moves! As far as he’s concerned, anything and everything is for play. He still has everything to learn about being a civilized member of a mainly human family. He will trip you up, piddle on your rug, and chew your stuff. Please don't apply to adopt Zion unless you're sure you have the time, energy and desire to raise him right! HEALTH STATUS General info Zion is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. He appears to be a healthy, growing puppy. HART does not support pediatric spay/neuter, so Zion has not yet been sterilized. As part of the adoption contract, you will be required to have him sterilized by 6 months of age. HART will refund $100 upon receiving proof of sterilization if requested. ADOPTION The adoption fee for Zion is $425. Our process starts with an online application and may take a few days to a week to complete. We appreciate your patience while we do our part. To apply to adopt Zion, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA-A-105 or email HearthfireART@gmail.com to request an adoption application form. HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters’ privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

Story
Meet Rutabaga! This boy has an unmatched zest for life-he loves every person and dog he meets. We guess his age to be around 9months old ( April 20th 2025) Rutabaga was found wandering alone October 18th 2025-he had (still has) a large wound on his back-it has now healed: however it is unlikely he will ever regrow hair in that area. We do not know what caused the injury, but he holds zero grudges and it doesn’t slow him down. He is working on basic commands: “sit”, “off”, “down” and “leave it” He has good leash skills and loves walks, walks with canine and human friends are the BEST! He would thrive in a home with another playful canine companion. We will also give preference to a home with fully fenced yard. He is good with children, we prefer over age 5 unless they have or currently live with large dogs.

Story
Eli is a soft-hearted, snuggly puppy with the sweetest personality and the kind of presence that just makes you feel at home. This bully/collie mix has the cutest little ears and an even bigger heart to match. Whether he’s starting your day with affection or winding down curled up in your lap, Eli is all about connection, comfort, and love. 💛 HISTORY Eli’s DOB is listed as 12/20/2025. He comes from an accidental litter of at least seven puppies. His original family worked hard to place the litter, but ultimately needed help with the remaining pups. Five of his siblings were taken in by another local rescue, while Eli and one sibling came to us so we could share the responsibility of helping this large group find homes. We share our dogs in other locations to give them the best chance at finding the right home. Eli is absolutely worth the trip, and we encourage meet-and-greets for approved adopters. SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING Eli is truly a “heart dog” in the making. He is incredibly people-oriented and seeks out affection, often being the first one to come say good morning and the last one to settle in for snuggles at night. He’s the kind of puppy who bonds deeply and just wants to be near his person. He is being raised in a busy foster home with older dog siblings and is benefiting from that exposure. Eli would do best in a home with another playful, active dog who can help guide him and continue building his confidence and social skills. Eli is also learning to coexist with cats. He is making progress, but will do best in a home with dog-savvy cats and continued supervision and guidance as he learns appropriate boundaries. For his age, Eli is doing excellent with crate training and potty training. He’s a smart little guy who is already starting to understand routines and expectations. He’s even learning that bath time isn’t so bad! With continued consistency and positive reinforcement, he will continue to build on this strong foundation. Eli is just a baby; he is young and eager to learn how to be a good family dog. He’d love you to take him to school so he can learn ALL the skills he needs to be his best self. This would be beneficial for you as his pet parent(s) as well so that you can learn to communicate effectively with him and teach him to be confident. Born 12/15/22 Briggs is female Australian Kelpie mix. She loves attention, cuddles and finding furniture and deck rails to walk on! She absolutely loves playing with her canine foster siblings and is very curious about cats, so could do well with a dog savvy cat. She has been wonderful with children but can be a little mouthy as is typical of young learning the ropes. She is potty trained and although she is not a huge fan of the crate, she'll go in and rest with the right bribe ? Briggs has enjoyed car rides and any adventure they lead to. She's an all-around great dog who will be a very loyal companion. She will require a securely fenced yard and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Spazz is spazztastic! He earned his name early on based on him in general being a spazz. He's 26lbs, neutered, vaccinated, parasite free, is chipped. Spazz sticks close to his people and could possibly train up to walk with you off leash. He's very oriented to his person, is great with all people and most dogs. Today he met LD and did great. He's experienced many puppies and does well teaching them how to behave and shows boundaries appropriately. Playtime has been toys, chasing his brother pack members and on occasion he gets to rough house with a little bully that's 3x his weight. Spazz will cuddle and sleep touching you and up behind your shoulder and head but sometimes he's asleep on my body when I wake up. This little dynamo would excel at agility or other skill-based activities. He's very smart and easily learns new things. Spazz lives peacefully with 2 large dogs and a chihuahua and LD. He's crate trained and doesn't mind chewing a raw beef bone in a crate or sleeping for a couple hours. He LOVES running and playing with toys when Lucky gets fired up. He chases reflected light, shadows, lasers, crystal prisms. Watch out for sunshine reflecting off your cell phone lol. Spazz definitely will let you know if someone is outside your home. He's not had a lot of cat experience and had one cornered but didn't hurt the cat. He barked, circled and will try to get them under the shed. I believe he could learn to get along with cats with proper instruction and experiences. Mr. Spazz could become a companion or potential support pet with training because he's so tuned into people. Spazz is located in West Richland, Washington. He can't drive so you will need to make a trip here to meet him and he's very much worth it. His adoption fee is $400. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/owner-surrender/HAWA-A-71 is his application link. You can also email HearthfireART@gmail.com for a written application. Spazz is also available to foster or even time share if you travel often he's always got a place to go.
