Story
Born approx. June 2020, Edwinn is a male Border Collie. He came to us afraid of the outside world and lacking confidence. He has made marked improvements in his foster home and is now ready to find his forever family. Edwinn is potty and crate trained. He is happiest when he is with his people and other dogs, for this reason, we will require Edwinn goes to a home with another confident dog to continue giving him guidance and reassurance. Edwinn needs a home with a secure 6 foot fence and one that will keep him active and mentally stimulated, breed experience is a huge bonus.Edwinn will do best in a home with adults or adults and kids over 5. It is unknown how he would do around cats. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Connor is ready for a home of his own! This boy is was born December 2018 and is a Border Collie mix. Connor struggles with insecurities and has a hard time meeting new people-but let me tell you that once you’ve made his “friends list” it’s for life! He will never let you down or leave you alone 😂😂 Connor will require a home with another confident canine companion, he does best with canine friends in his home to show him what’s okay. While he currently lives with dog savvy cats, he may not do well with new feline friends. Connor is not a dog that will ever enjoy going to dog parks, outdoor eateries, etc. That's not his scene. He prefers being with his family at home. He's an introvert's dream dog! 😉 He needs a calmer home with structure and routine, for this reason, a home without young children is best. Connor is potty, leash, and crate trained. He is still working on basic commands like sit, down, etc. He loves chew toys and treats. He will play tug-o-war but hasn't mastered fetch. We do require home ownership and a 6 foot fenced yard-no children under age 10. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Meet Stevie Nicks! She is a female Border Collie/American Staffordshire Terrier mix born approx. May 2017. Here is a little bit about her: she came into our program injured and wandering in a field. It appeared she had been attacked by another animal. Since that time she’s come a long way baby! She knows basic commands such as sit and shake, and is highly intelligent. She would do well with an owner who will continue with her training so she can be the best dog she can be. She can be talkative and is other dog selective. Cats are unknown. Stevie Nicks loves to play in the water and squeaky balls. Her forever home will require a secure 6 foot fence with adults or adults and children over 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Fabio is a gentle soul. He came into rescue from Tri City Animal Control. He was born approximately March 2020 - best guess. He is a collie mix. We don’t know much about his past but this poor soul has at least 13 BB pellets in his skull. He also has some mild separation anxiety and would love a person/family around a lot. He currently lives with many other dogs of all sizes, but he is most happy when just with people. He has not been around cats so we cannot determine compatibility. He is crate trained (but prefers a sofa, chair or your bed), housebroken and has good leash manners. He adores the attention of children and will happily roll onto his back for belly rubs 😊 We do recommend children over age 5 and preference given to a fenced yard. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Hey there! I'm Freckles and my life has changed A LOT the past few months. See, my foster momma says she "integrated" me into her "ZooCrew" which are her special doggies and I'm pretty special so that's where I needed to be. Before that I was always outside, with my brothers who have been adopted or are in a foster away from me. I like it and get to meet new doggies often and I have 2 buddies named Lucky and Hemi that I just LOVE!!! I lick their faces, am all wiggly when I get out of the crate to go outside for a while. Hemi don't like it much and sometimes he chases me away and then we wrestle and run around. I get into trouble with Lucky cuz him and I are bigger and we get running, jumping and tearing through the house we have so much fun we forget that we're inside. Sunday I laughed so hard when Lucky fell off the bed but then I forgot and I fell off the bed which wasn't as funny but he thought so. I like it here a lot but I think it's time to free up a spot for a dog in need and that means I need adopted. Now foster momma says I'm whatever a "diamond in the rough" and with some training I will be the bestest dog ever. I do know how to sit, I can be lured into a crate with special treats and will go to sleep but I would rather sleep on the bed with you. I do have a bad habit or two of pulling things from the garbage or sampling shoes or dirty laundry on occasion but it smells like you so how can you blame me, right? I need time to get to know you when we first meet and I'll need some practice going places, being on leash, riding in the car, your friends need to give me time to get used to them and I will because foster momma says I'm a "rock star" and that I can do anything!!! Freckles is a 3 year old heeler/border collie mix. He is current on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and ready to love you. He is a little shy at first, but once you earn his trust, he will be your best friend!

Story
Chowder is a very sweet boy who loves being petted and snuggled. Chowder may have experienced some hardships before coming to the shelter that has made him tentative around men and children. This can cause some fear responses which will need someone willing to slowly work him out of those fears. But once he warms up to you he will be your best friend for life!

Story
Born October 30, 2022 Red Rover is a young red heeler with neurological issues. Our vet suspects a mild form of Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Cerebellar hypoplasia is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum—the part of the brain that coordinates movement—is smaller than usual or not completely developed. For Red Rover, this looks like small steps when walking, a lack of confidence when moving, and he absolutely HATES being picked up. Red Rover will need another confident, friendly dog in his forever home to boost his confidence and show him the ropes in life. He currently lives with dogs of all sizes and cats. Red prefers the company of other dogs to his human family members, but he is a friendly little guy. Despite the extra pep in his step, Red is a smart boy who learns routines quickly. He is not your typical, active heeler and would not succeed as a working dog. He loves to chew on bones (or anything he can get his little teeth around), wrestle with his dog friends, and lay around the house. If you are looking to open your home to a special needs dog, Red Rover may just be your guy. If you have another friendly, confident dog, a fenced yard, and older children who can respect Red’s special needs, submit an adoption application at www.mikeyschance.com.

Story
Born 12/15/22 Briggs is female Australian Kelpie mix. She loves attention, cuddles and finding furniture and deck rails to walk on! She absolutely loves playing with her canine foster siblings and is very curious about cats, so could do well with a dog savvy cat. She has been wonderful with children but can be a little mouthy as is typical of young learning the ropes. She is potty trained and although she is not a huge fan of the crate, she'll go in and rest with the right bribe 😉 Briggs has enjoyed car rides and any adventure they lead to. She's an all-around great dog who will be a very loyal companion. She will require a securely fenced yard and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Born December 25th 2022, Banjo is a male heeler mix. Banjo is typical puppy - sweet, active and loves playing with other dogs. He's learned sit, leave it, and go potty and is almost fully potty and crate trained. Banjo will do best in an active home with other dogs to play with. He is a little bit shy at first, but once he feels safe he's all smiles and sweetness! True to his breed and thrives on constant mental and physical stimulation. Dog savvy cats will be fine as he does like to chase-it’s all in fun and he means no harm. A securely fenced yard is a must, and if there are children in the home, over the age of 5.
