Story
I would like you to meet Lucy, a pure bred border collie. She is just over two years old. And has been a great dog to have for the last two years! We are very sad about having to rehome her but we feel that we can't provide her the attention she needs. She would do great in a home where she can play outside a lot and run, she has a lot of energy. She would be better in a home without children. With the proper training I feel that Lucy can be the perfect dog for your home!

Story
Hi there! I'm Obsidian! I arrived at NAS as a stray back in February 2023. I was in a foster home for 6 months but unfortunately had to return to the shelter due to clashing personalities with another dog in the home. I am a highly energetic and playful little lady who would do well in a family that leads an active lifestyle. I require a child free home due to fear-based aggression and herding behaviors. I am looking for a family that can evaluate other dogs due to make sure it is a positive experience due to being dog selective. Staff here think I'd make a great sports/agility dog due to the amount of exercise I require in a day as well as being incredibly smart. I love to keep my brain working so continued training would help with my fear-based aggression and territorial behavior. I am a little nervous around strangers and have been working on this with a behaviorist and my foster family prior to coming back to the shelter. In a home I will need a safe space for when guest visit the home and a space for meeting new people. Once I warm up to you, I am a complete snuggle bug. I love sitting in people's laps and getting all the pets. My favorite thing in this entire world is my tennis ball and always need to have one with me. I could play fetch for hours if you'll let me. I will require a full week of decompression time once in a new home so that we can really bond. Since new people take longer for me to become comfortable with I should be taken to a fear free certified clinic to keep things low stress and I may require some pre-appointment sedation. To keep me healthy and comfortable I am on a long-term behavior medication (Fluoxetine). Please fill out an application to meet mePlease note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website. (http://neenahanimalshelter.org/how-to-adopt.html)- Our shelter no longer has open visiting hours, so a pre-approved application and scheduled appointment is needed prior to meeting any of our animals

Story
Abigail is very smart, house-trained and loving and would make a great companion dog for a person or family without small children around. They make her uncomfortable and defensive. Older kids would probably be just fine and she might actually enjoy the extra activity. She does well with visitors in the home and is eager to learn. Here's your chance to adopt a "turn-key" dog! !

Story
Hi, my name is Pepper! I'm an older gal looking for my forever home after coming from another shelter in the Upper Peninsula! I'm a mellow girl who can be shy and take a bit to warm up to new people, but once I do, I will be your friend for life! I have this keen sense to choose dog people right out of a crowd. I am a good walker, and I love being petted and getting belly rubs! Land to run would be great for me because while I am on the older side, I still have lots of energy and life in me! However, if a couch is what you have to offer me, I will gladly take that too! A home with older children would be best for me and I am not a fan of other dogs, so I would like to be your one and only doggy friend. Could you please give me a quiet home and a comfy couch? I will repay you with so much love, I promise! Please come meet me at the shelter! Love, Pepper. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 68 Age: 9yrs 2mths 1wks
