I`ll be honest, the transition has been a little tough on my sensitive heart, but I am adjusting to my new surroundings every single day with grace. I truly crave human interaction and will thrive best in a home where my people are around a lot. Because I have a bit of separation anxiety, I need to live in a single-family home rather than an apartment where I can feel secure and settled. I`m a deeply affectionate guy, known around the shelter for my engaging playtime, love of cozy couch time, and devotion to companionship. Weighing in at a 60 pounds, I am the perfect size to be your constant shadow or a calm, easygoing companion for another dog in the house. If you`re looking for a wonderful, mellow friend to share your life with, I am more than ready to fill your days with quiet affection. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, microchipped and soon to be neutered. 3 words that describe me: Friendly, energetic, curious Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: Staff and volunteers say that I am such a lovebug! They love playing outside with me where I can zoom around in the grass! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 7 or 8/10 Housetraining Status: I am working on it! With a consistent routine I should learn in no time. I should do well in a home: I should do well in a home with people of all ages given proper supervision, and dogs given proper intros. My friends at the shelter are unsure how I would do with cats. My favorite activities are: I love running around outside and getting attention from my favorite people! Gavin has a tiny blue speck in one of his eyes that makes an already handsome face even more unique. At around 2 years old and 37 lbs, he may be a Heeler/Border Collie mix and is a great medium size. Gavin is a friendly, mellow guy who gets along great with other dogs. Despite the breeds he resembles, he isn't a high-strung, constantly-on-the-go dog. He's easygoing and happy just hanging out with his people and dog friends. He's a sweet, uncomplicated boy with a calm personality who would fit easily into a lot of different lifestyles. Good fit: someone looking for a friendly, mellow, medium-sized companion who gets along well with other dogs and doesn't need constant activity to be happy.
