Story
Meet Maggie, also know as Mooshie. She’s about 7 years old and is from a rescue in the mountains of NC. She is very kind and affectionate with humans. Maggie would do well with a young active person and as the only dog in the house because she engages in resource guarding (safeguards toys, her human and holes she digs from other dogs). She walks well and needs lots of exercise. She is part border collie and smart, agile and fast but has never been food motivated (she is toy and praise motivated). For the right person, she would be the ideal dog. This person would be active and walk, run, hike, bike etc… with her a minimum of 2x/day, keep her mind engaged with toys and dog training and just love her and let her love them. She just wants to be with you and cuddle and play and go on walkies. She is scared of storms and crate trained (but haven’t used it in years). She will dig in the backyard if she does not get enough exercise and mental stimulation.

Story
.Kendra has returned to the shelter for her next chapter. She was adopted from HSWC as a puppy and has been well loved, but health issues of her family have made it hard to take care of her. She loves to go for walks and her favorite activity is to play fetch with tennis balls. She does well with children and most other dogs, but has never met a cat. She does have strong storm anxiety and needs medication for that.

Story
She is a sweet girl unfortunely we just don't have the time to keep this high energy girl entertained. She does get nervous around some men with beards (we don't know why) she barks at them a lot and children. Sadly she has bitten our youngest child, we believe she gets nervous with the unexpected movement of young ones. She is very bright and understands commands/tricks such as sit, lay down, stay, go potty, paw, leave it, middle (where she will go sit in between your legs.) She loves butt scratches and belly rubs. We will miss her greatly but we need to find a place where she will get the attention she deserves.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org ✨🐾 Meet Lady — Gentle Soul, Quiet Companion, Blossoming Beauty 🐾✨ Hi… I’m Lady 💛 I’m about 10 months old, 25 pounds, and if I’m being honest… I’m still figuring this big, busy world out. I may be a little shy when we first meet—you might have to come get me (I like to pretend it’s a game of “you can’t catch me,” but I promise I’m not very committed to winning 😅). Once you do, though? I melt. Soft pets, kind voices, and gentle patience are my absolute favorite things. I’m what they call a “gentle heart.” I don’t have a mean bone in my body—just a sensitive soul who wants to feel safe and loved. And once I do? Oh… I start to shine. ✨ I love other dogs—they help me feel brave and show me that everything’s going to be okay. Having a confident canine friend in my forever home would be like having my own emotional support buddy. Some of my favorite things: - Going on walks (I’m actually really good on a leash!) - Checking in to make sure you’re still there… because you’re important 💛 - Quietly hanging out near you like your polite little shadow - Learning that the world isn’t so scary after all I’m not the chaotic, zoomy type—I’m more of a “let’s take a peaceful walk and then sit together in comfortable silence” kind of girl. Think cozy companion, not party animal. Because I’m still building my confidence, I’d do best in a calmer home without small children. Lots of noise and fast movement can feel overwhelming for me—but with patience, love, and time, I’m blossoming more every single day. 🌼 What I really need is someone who sees me—not just the shy beginnings, but the loving, loyal dog I’m becoming. Someone who will go at my pace, celebrate my little victories, and let me grow into the confident girl I’m meant to be. I promise, I’m worth the wait. So if you’ve got a kind heart, a little patience, and maybe a friendly dog who wouldn’t mind showing me the ropes… I’d love to be your Lady. Apply today at haydudeequine.org 🐾💛
