Story
Meet Buddy, a brilliant two-and-a-half-year-old neutered male Miniature Australian Shepherd who is ready to find his forever people! True to his breed, Buddy is incredibly smart, fully housetrained, and thrives when he has a job to do or a puzzle to solve. He gets along great with most dogs his own size, though he does practice some resource guarding and will need a savvy adopter who knows how to manage and work through that behavior. Because of this and his classic Aussie drive, Buddy is looking for a mature, adult-only home with a family who truly understands and loves the quirks of shepherd breeds. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a loyal, active, and clever companion to join your adventures, Buddy might just be your perfect match! For more information, contact the City/County Animal Shelter at (307) 686-5249.

Story
Meet Ludo! Ludo, the handsome Australian and German Shepherd mix, is a gentle giant with so much love to give. This sweet boy has plenty of pep in his step and loves nothing more than doing laps around the park, chasing after a ball, and following his nose on all kinds of sniffing adventures. Whether he’s exploring every scent on a walk or happily trotting by your side, Ludo is always ready for his next adventure. Ludo absolutely adores people and is happiest when he’s soaking up attention from his favorite humans — kids included! He greets everyone he meets with enthusiasm, affection, and his signature goofy charm. While Ludo loves human companionship, he would do best as the only dog in the home so he can fully enjoy being the center of attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a playful spirit and a nose for adventure, Ludo may just be your perfect match. Story
Bear Bear, as we like to call him, has been in our family for 10 years. He is 11 years old and we rescued him from an abusive situation. He has a harder time warming up to men but has gotten better over the years and loves every member of our family. A couple of years ago he bit our toddler, Bear laid on my son's blanket after I gave him a bone and my son tried to retrieve his blanket and our younger dog was also standing by watching intently. A recipe for disaster. Since we have tried to train both Bear and our son more but there have still been moments of aggression with such a lively young household. Bear needs space and kids can be clumsy. He is not hostile to anyone except the occasional strange man. He has no health issues and still gets the occasional zoomie runs and plays with our younger dog. He also gets along with our cats. He is a wonderful dog we just want to protect our children and give him his best end of life.
