Bubs is a very soft, sweet little man who may need a little time to show you just how special he is. He’s a shy, sensitive boy who can be nervous around strangers and often prefers to hang out quietly in the back of his kennel and take everything in from a safe distance. Once he feels comfortable, though, Bubs has a very affectionate side. He is food motivated and gets genuinely excited when treats are involved! He takes treats gently and, once he decides you’re his person, he’ll happily Velcro himself to you. He’s a gentle boy who enjoys affection and being close to the people he trusts. Bubs is still learning about the leash and isn’t comfortable walking on one yet. He’s a good sport about being carried and really enjoyed having some time to explore and relax in the yard. When it comes to other dogs, Bubs is more of a wallflower. In playgroups, he prefers to observe rather than jump into the action. He does well with polite, respectful male and female dogs, but he would do best with canine companions who understand his quiet nature and won’t pressure him to interact. Bubs is looking for a quiet, patient home where he can decompress, build confidence at his own pace, and learn that the world can be a safe place. No small animals for Bubs. If you’re looking for a gentle, tender-hearted companion who may start out as a little wallflower but has plenty of sweetness waiting to blossom, Bubs could be your boy. ❤️

Story
Rosy was a stray found in Stockton. She was just a puppy and had already had a litter. She was a terrified little thing, and we had to give her a chance at a better life. We cleaned her up, got her fixed, all shots up to date, and gave her lots of love. She has since turned into the puppy she was meant to be. She is a mix of several breeds but looks most like a terrier. She loves to hunt and chase and enjoys sniff walks. She is not very social with other dogs or cats. She will sit next to me at the dog park and ignore them. She is not aggressive at all, nor a big barker. She loves our cat... he does not love her, but they seem to secretly have fun together. The cat chases her more! She is very sweet and loves her belly rubbed. She is still a puppy and likes to mouth things and nibble. We are trying to get her to not do this. She clearly never had toys before because she has no idea what to do with them, but she loves shoes, toilet paper, and boxes!!
