Meet Socrates! Socrates is a Border Terrier mix who came to us from the Stanislaus shelter. He has a high energy level and a bold, spirited personality. He does well with people but is dog selective and does not do well with other dogs in enclosed spaces. Socrates can be vocal around strangers and pulls on leash when excited. He is also an escape artist and may grab shoes or pant legs during moments of excitement. Socrates would do best in an experienced home that can provide structure, training, and clear boundaries to help him succeed. Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? This scruffy boy loves people and all the attention he can get. Zuko is confident, a little independent, and sometimes a little vocal about his opinions. He does well with other dogs who enjoy confident companions. Unfortunately, Ellis tested positive for heartworms, and is waiting to go through the treatment. The treatment process takes about 3 months, and he would be happiest in a foster home while he recovers.
