Story
URGENT: SPECIAL MEDICAL FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE FAMILY NEEDED! Lucie Bee is a 2 year, 7 month old female Golden Retriever (about 68 lbs) and her BFF Buddy is a 3 year, 8 month old Border Collie/Akita mix (about 50lbs) and they are the kind of pair who just belong together! These two came to GRRAND after their family experienced a heartbreaking loss, and through all of the change in their world, they’ve held tightly to the one thing that has remained constant: each other. They are wonderfully bonded, deeply connected, and, as one person lovingly described them, “like peanut butter and jelly.” Buddy Bee is the black-and-white charmer of the pair — friendly, social, and full of love. He doesn’t know a stranger and seems to believe every person he meets is simply a friend he hasn’t said hello to yet. He’s the more outgoing half of this duo and brings a happy, easy warmth wherever he goes. Lucie Bee is Buddy’s beautiful golden sidekick. She’s a little softer and more sensitive at first, but once she settles in, she does just fine. If Buddy is the social butterfly, Lucie is the sweet soul who takes a minute to look around, make sure all is well, and then quietly let her lovely personality shine. She’s a good girl who seems to draw comfort from having Buddy close by... And Buddy is very happy to oblige! She is also able to clear a 4 FT high fence, so a privacy fenced yard or professionally installed invisible fence would be best to keep them contained. These two truly seem to balance each other in the best way — Buddy bringing the confidence, Lucie bringing the gentle heart, and both of them bringing a whole lot of sweetness to the table. They are curious, affectionate, fun and pretty calm dogs. They are an awesome pair. Lucie is also facing a medical hurdle right now. After arriving at GRRAND not wanting to bear weight on one of her back legs, she was evaluated by our vet and diagnosed with a torn CCL, which means she will need surgery. Because of that, GRRAND will be looking for a medical foster for Lucie while she recovers. Our hope, of course, is to find a foster willing and able to take both Buddy and Lucie together, because they are so very close. We also understand that fostering a dog recovering from orthopedic surgery while also taking on a bonded pair is a big ask. If needed, they may have to be temporarily separated during Lucie’s recovery, but only if absolutely necessary. Buddy Bee and Lucie Bee are looking for a soft place to land, a family who will appreciate the sweetness of a bonded pair, and a home where they can continue the next chapter of life together. They’ve already been through a great deal, but they still have so much love to give to a loving new family. If your heart has room for two very special best friends, Buddy Bee and Lucie Bee would love to meet you, so please fill out an app at GRRAND.org and we can make this meet and greet happen! ##2778287##

Story
Loula is a 5 year old, Great Pyrenees mix (we believe she is a Pyradoodle!) at only 50ish lbs who is being surrendered to GRRAND as her family tells us: "We are relocating to a larger city where we will not have the outdoor space or time to care for her properly. She currently has a large yard to play in, and she will not have that when they move." She should go to a home with no small children as her current home has them and we are told: " While we do have children, she likes to herd/follow small children and it does cause her to be stressed and not settle down when multiple kids are running around, and she does not like it when they are around while she is eating."  Loula is crate-trained and sleeps in it at night and needs plenty of activity to keep her busy. She will need a home with a fenced in yard so she can hang out and play. Our GRRAND volunteer who hangs with Loula in the GRRAND play yard tells us: "We were back in our field today with Miss Loula, who has recently had a second grooming and is looking even more beautiful. Loula is a Goldendoodle mix and she is great fun. She has a great sense of humor and likes to run like a gazelle while having a ball thrown for her, but she also loves to sit and be petted. She knows basic commands, including recall upon hearing her name. This girl needs to put some weight on her bones, but she is looking better everyday. It's always a great time with Loula!" We are still learning about this cute girl, please check back for more info later. If you would like to meet Loula, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2799255##
