You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BOURNVILLE hails from a Southern community in Ontario and came into the rescue with her 3 siblings, Milky Bar, Galaxy and Dairy Milk.They came into Rescue on the Easter weekend so they received the litter name of the  “Chocolate Litter and this cute girl is now looking for her forever home. She’s spayed, had her 3 sets of puppy vaccines including a Rabies shot, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We do have a picture of her mum and she looks like a Border Collie/Bully mix but we have no info on dad. Seeing as she comes from a community with lots of stray dogs she no doubt has many different breeds in her and they could additionally include Shepherd, Black Lab and even Husky. We also have no idea on the size she’ll grow to be so the size we have in this post is just a guess. We’re definitely looking for an adopter for her who has Bully breed experience. She’s a very loving, happy girl and that little tail of hers is always wagging. She really loves to socialize with people but she may be a bit apprehensive of someone at first but she soon comes around when left alone and will eventually go and greet them on her own terms. her happy personality and loving nature she’ll be a great asset to a dog loving home. She absolutely loves the water and she’ll happily go in the lake with a doggie life vest on. She’s just an all round great little dog who deserves to be with her forever family and we’re quite baffled as to why that hasn’t happened yet.  BOURNVILLE is sweet, playful and full of curiosity plus she has a shy side to her when she meets new people. Her foster finds that she reacts best to strangers when they don’t approach her as soon as they see her but rather leave her be and she’ll come over to them in her own time. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body but she is simply apprehensive about meeting strangers. Once she knows warms up to you then you have a friend for life who will always greet you with her happy tail wagging disposition. This lovely girl likes nothing better than to spend time outside playing in her fenced-in yard. When her playtime is over she’s all about the cuddles and she’ll happily curl up in your lap for some quality nap time. With her happy, gentle disposition and loving nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow. BOURNVILLE is 100% crate trained and picked up on that very quickly as she’s a very smart girl. She’ll sleep quietly in it at night and she has free access to it during the day so will often take her naps in there. She also has her own dog bed that she’ll lay on throughout the day and she’ll sit on it to chew her bone. She’s now fully housetrained and will let you know when she needs to go outside for a bathroom break. She loves to go for walks and is taken out hiking fairly regularly. She has met several friendly dogs on her walks and she’s a bit reserved at first but soon relaxes and has been able to greet them nicely. She just loves to go in the lake at the cottage and she happily goes in with a doggie life vest on. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to keep those little teeth busy. She’s really good with the basic commands and will “sit” for her meals and treats and to take them “gentle.” BOURNVILLE’s ideal family would be a quiet but active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them. Ideally someone would be home with her for most of the day as she loves to be around her people. She really loves to go in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. There is a resident large female dog in her foster home and they get along great together. She’s met many of our other foster dogs at the events we’ve held and she’s loved them all from puppies to full adults. So we feel she would best suit a home with another dog but they would need to be calm and gentle just like she is in order to thrive. She met a cat for the first time and she just lay on the floor and was nose-to-nose with her wanting to engage in play. The cat has CH so is a special needs one and her foster really felt that she understood that and so didn’t push too hard to interact with her her but instead just lay there with her. We do always recommend that a slow, monitored introduction be made with a cat while the puppy is on a leash for initial meetings. She needs a fenced-in yard so she can safely run around and play and children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.  BOURNVILLE was previously adopted out at around 10 weeks of age but after 3 weeks and through no fault of her own, she was returned to the rescue. She really wasn’t thriving in the home and there seemed to be a lot of expectations put on her little shoulders. Training for her wasn’t prioritized and it’s clearly stated in all of our puppy adoption posts that we do require our puppies (and dogs) to receive training and this is what we put on: like all puppies, BOURNVILLE is a cute, playful and fun puppy but she’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to signing her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the most well behaved puppy possible. It’s also so her adopter can learn how to communicate and understand her which will lead to a mutual respect and a thriving relationship steeped in communication with each other.  If BOURNVILLE sounds like she’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.
