Don't let his size fool you—1-year-old Irish Wolfhound mix Teddy is a big gentle giant of 43lbs, with an even bigger heart! He absolutely adores people of all ages and is especially wonderful with children. He is a total gem with other dogs, getting along wonderfully with companions of all shapes and sizes, including cats. This fun-loving guy has great energy and thrives on play! He would love a household that embraces his enthusiasm and joins in on the fun. Since he handles himself beautifully on a leash, he would be the ideal partner for neighborhood walks or weekend hikes in the great outdoors. Teddy already has great kennel manners and follows a good potty routine, though he may just need a little time and patient guidance to adjust to a new setup in his prospective home. Story
Gwen's owners, an elderly couple, are no longer able to care for her — her mom is in assisted living and her dad is transitioning there as well from the hospital. Neither will be returning home. Right now, Gwen is living alone at the house while family members stop by to feed and check on her, but no one in the family is able to take her in long-term. She needs a loving home of her own. Gwen is a gentle giant. As an Irish Wolfhound mix, she's a big girl with an even bigger heart. Sweet-natured and easygoing, she gets along well with other dogs, and she's gentle and affectionate with kids who are big enough to handle her exuberant greetings. Due to her breed, Gwen is considered a geriatric dog at 10 years old, with a calm, affectionate temperament. She does get excited and jump up on people when greeting them. She's not at all aggressive, just a big, happy dog who hasn't quite learned her own size. A home with older kids or adults comfortable with some gentle guidance around that help.

Ophelia is a Greek name meaning “help” or “aid”. This sweet slightly senior gal would love to help aid you on your quest to find a new best friend! Here’s what we learned during a two-week foster stay:- She’s a quiet houseguest and was well- behaved when left alone- She did well with a resident small dog- She is house trained- She loves tennis balls and stuffed animals- She LOVES going on walks- She is friendly, sweet, loyal and a belly rub queen! Here’s what one volunteers at the shelter have said:“Ophelia is a sweet frosty faced lady who can be a bit barky in her kennel but is all talk. She was easy to leash up and very eager to get outside for some fresh air. She enjoyed sniffing around and exploring the play yard and was happy to accept pets and affection from me. She’s a spunky gal who enjoyed some zoomies. She knows sit and takes treats politely and she loves to lean into you for scratches and rub against you like a cat. Super receptive to attention and loves interact. A happy and sweet senior citizen!!”“Ophelia was barky in the kennel but once out in the yard she is a big love bug. She did not leave my side for the whole time and wanted to be pet and wanted attention.”Ophelia shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been tolerant and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup.
