Story
Available for Adoption: Meet Murphy!  A quirky little lady with a big heart and even bigger personality! Murphy is a 6-year-old Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a past that tugged at our hearts — and a future that's looking brighter every day. This pint-sized sweetheart came to us under the assumption that she was pregnant, but after close monitoring, we confirmed she was not expecting — and thankfully, no tumors were found either as was initially feared. Medical Journey & Recovery. Murphy battled a severe dental and gum infection that we couldn't treat right away due to the pregnancy concern. Once cleared, she underwent a successful spay and major dental surgery on September 2nd, where 20 teeth were extracted (and she was already missing 4). That’s 24 teeth in total — but don’t worry, it hasn’t slowed her down one bit! She’s since recovered beautifully and is healthy, happy, and ready for her forever home. Temperament: A bit shy at first, then a total love bug. Favorite things: Walks, belly rubs, and greeting you with her signature “welcome home” song   Personality: Loyal, affectionate, and low-key hilarious once she feels safe. Despite her sometimes serious “mean mug,” Murphy is an absolute cuddle bug once she trusts you she will be your little shadow — the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. She is crate trained, potty trained, great with kids, cats and all dogs. She has had 2 vet visits, is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), two dewormings, and a fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours for meet-and-greet appointments. Private message if interested! ##2527415##

Story
I adopted this cutie in FL 8 years ago. He is extremely loving, cuddly, and lazy. He is now 10 years old and would love to have a backyard of his own. He loves to lay out in the sun and have someone with them to give lots of pets and affection. Great with cats and kids, although he will try to lick their faces. He is very loving and healthy for his age; I just unfortunately do not have the time for him that he deserves. I am looking for the perfect match. I would describe him as food motivated, cuddly, silly, lazy (lots of dog snores and snorts), and energetic when outdoors. Would happily give more details and pictures to serious adopters.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kevin and Oswald are an 11yr old bonded pair that need to be adopted together. Bonded means that these dogs have been together since 2017 and are very attached to each other. They are both very sweet, playful, and want to be where ever their people are. Both dogs are housetrained, and their fosters have said that they haven't had one accident in the house since they came to live with them. Kevin and Oswald love to ride in the car, and they absolutely love to go for walks with their foster parents. In fact, they have been going for two substantial walks a day. Yes, they are seniors, but they are healthy, and as one of the fosters related, "They still have a lot of gas in their tank!" Now for some individual differences: Kevin- is 25 lbs. He likes to play tug of war with his brother and always wins. He is a power walker and has completed several 19 minute mile/hour walks. Kevin is a snuggler and likes to sleep on his foster's lap while he works on the computer. He has cataracts, but though it may limit his sight, it does not stop him from being an active happy Boston Terrier. Oswald- is a bigger boy and weighs 33 lbs. He is very loving and most interested in following his person around wherever they are, joyfully wagging his stubby tail. He loves his walks but prefers to walk more leisurely than Kevin. The most interesting thing about Oswald is that he likes to talk, and he can relate a whole story while Kevin seems to shake his head in agreement. If you have the heart for seniors, these two would be a great pair to adopt and bring home. They will make your lives better for sure!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 8:42 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kendra is a very sweet and easy to handle older dog that was found as a stray by a kind business owner who turned her over to rescue.  She sleeps well in her crate and does well with the other dogs in the fosters home.  With an approved diet she appears to be getting stronger and learning to master the doggie door. She enjoys an early romp in the yard with one of her foster brothers and is chill the rest of the day. She has a very curious mind and enjoys seeing new things. Kendra enjoys her car rides and is just a very sweet, perfect little companion.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 3, 2026, 7:13 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Calopie is a very gentle sweet girl that likes other dogs, is housebroken and will whine at the door to be let out.  She needs a little weight put back on her since she was homeless for awhile.  She came to us with some medical issues that are being addressed.  She does have a mild heart murmur but not bad enough to warrant heart medications at this time.  Calopie also has some hip dysplasia but at this time not bad enough to warrant surgery.  She loves to cuddle and lay in a nice warm spot.  Is curious outside and likes to investigate.  Calopie is not ready for long walks but a nice little stroll is just perfect.  LOVES car rides. Snuggles right down into her bed. Weve found she's timid of large female dogs, but does NOT like large male dogs. She's a sweet jem.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 9:27 pm

Story
Buddy our Little Elder Introvert: Toy obsessed Yes! Meet Buddy, the French Bulldog with the personality of a 1920s flapper dancer! This 7-year-old charmer came to us as an owner surrender due to family changes and concerns over his behavior around young children. While Buddy showed some aggression in his previous home with their toddler, he has been a model citizen in his foster home, showing no signs of aggression and living peacefully with the other dogs—though he prefers to do his own thing rather than join in on their antics. Buddy is a sweet, introverted soul who thrives in a calm and quiet environment. He has a gentle sway in his hips when he walks, which only adds to his unique personality. Whether he’s “talking” in his hilarious Frenchie bark, exploring the house, playing with his toys, or enjoying a long nap, Buddy knows how to keep himself entertained. Ideal Home: Buddy is looking for a home with no children under 10 years old, that are well versed in leaving a dog be (he is not looking for a best friend), as he finds chaotic environments overwhelming. He would do wonderfully in a household with: • A small, quiet family with older children • A single person who wants a loyal companion • A peaceful couple who can provide a calm and structured environment Buddy loves his crate (it’s his safety zone) and prefers it to be accessible so he can come and go as he pleases. His favorite spot is a cozy dog bed by the couch, where he can keep an eye on you while relaxing. Health & Special Care Needs: Buddy is healthy overall, but as a senior French Bulldog, he has a few age-related conditions: • Spinal Issues (IVDD): Managed with medication, crate rest, and non-surgical therapies such as acupuncture or chiropractic treatments. • Allergies: He is on a salmon-based diet and supplements (hip and joint supplements, probiotics) to keep him feeling his best. • Eyes: One of Buddy’s eyes is slightly cloudy due to a repaired ulcer, but it doesn’t affect his quality of life. • Mobility: He walks on all fours and is not incontinent. Continued care, like therapy and a safe home layout, will help him thrive. Personality: Buddy is a true introvert who loves peace and quiet. He’s not one for rough housing but adores cheek and ear scratches. His quirky bark—part talk, part Frenchie charm—is sure to make you laugh. He may not be the life of the party, but he’s the perfect companion for someone who values quiet moments and a loving presence. He loves to go for short walks, but we always advise to not let strangers pet. Buddy has plenty of life and love left to share. With his foster family’s care, he’s been thriving, and we’re confident he can continue living a happy, comfortable life with the right adopter. This guy needs a home to live out the rest of his golden years quietly with a couch potato. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion to share your days with, Buddy might just be your perfect match! He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Adoption donation fee $700.00, please apply for Buddy on our website, freedomfrenchierescue.org, located in Mesa, AZ (pending foster).

Story
Hi, I’m Cutie - Yes… that’s really my name—and trust me, it fits. How I Got My Name So here’s the deal: I was found at the QT, and the rescue posted me everywhere hoping someone would come forward and say, “That’s my dog.” They waited two full months to see if anyone had lost me… but no one ever did. Honestly? It’s probably for the best—because whatever my life was before this was fucking terrible. Being overlooked turned out to be the thing that saved me. From there, I landed at FFR, started my glow-up, and officially became Cutie—because after everything I’ve been through, softness finally found me. The Real Me I’m 3 years old and 23 lbs of pure snuggle energy. When I first came into rescue, I was terrified. I would crouch down when people approached, unsure if love was coming or not. Fast-forward a couple months and now? I jump up when I see you—because I KNOW affection is waiting on the other side. Love changed everything for me. Cuddle Queen Status Let’s get one thing straight: I am a professional couch potato with a PhD in snuggling. I’m potty trained, crate trained (though I will 100% choose your bed if given the option), and I firmly believe blankets and pillows are non-negotiable life essentials. I roll over instantly for belly rubs, never say no to a treat, and I take my cuddle responsibilities very seriously. Playtime & Friends I love toys—especially Nylabones—and I adore playing with my foster sibling Violet, who is just a teeny tiny baby. I’m gentle, playful, and sweet with other dogs. Basically, I’m the fun aunt who also wants to nap immediately after. My Health & Care I came in with a serious ear infection, but good news—it’s cleared up! That said, my ears will need to be cleaned twice a week, no skipping allowed. It’s an absolute must for me to stay comfortable and healthy. I also struggle with yeast and allergies, but don’t worry—we’ve got them under control now. I’m on allergy meds and a prescription diet, and WOW has it made a difference. I’m feeling better every day. Oh—and yes, I have crate feet (I go full gremlin paws in the crate, not my fault I lived in one…), but those will improve with time and confidence. Foster Life Commentary I love my foster dad, beg him for food regularly, and attempt to manage my foster mom’s job… though I usually fall asleep before I can clock in. Turns out, supervising humans is exhausting. My Perfect Home I never knew what “spoiled” meant before rescue—but now I do, and I’m ready to keep living that life. I’m looking for a family who understands routines, keeps up with my ear care and diet, and wants a loyal, affectionate, slightly bossy cuddle companion. If you’re searching for a dog who will make your house feel like home, warm your heart, and steal your blankets— I’m your girl.
