Buddy our Little Elder Introvert: Toy obsessed Yes! Meet Buddy, the French Bulldog with the personality of a 1920s flapper dancer! This 7-year-old charmer came to us as an owner surrender due to family changes and concerns over his behavior around young children. While Buddy showed some aggression in his previous home with their toddler, he has been a model citizen in his foster home, showing no signs of aggression and living peacefully with the other dogs—though he prefers to do his own thing rather than join in on their antics. Buddy is a sweet, introverted soul who thrives in a calm and quiet environment. He has a gentle sway in his hips when he walks, which only adds to his unique personality. Whether he’s “talking” in his hilarious Frenchie bark, exploring the house, playing with his toys, or enjoying a long nap, Buddy knows how to keep himself entertained. Ideal Home: Buddy is looking for a home with no children under 10 years old, that are well versed in leaving a dog be (he is not looking for a best friend), as he finds chaotic environments overwhelming. He would do wonderfully in a household with: • A small, quiet family with older children • A single person who wants a loyal companion • A peaceful couple who can provide a calm and structured environment Buddy loves his crate (it’s his safety zone) and prefers it to be accessible so he can come and go as he pleases. His favorite spot is a cozy dog bed by the couch, where he can keep an eye on you while relaxing. Health & Special Care Needs: Buddy is healthy overall, but as a senior French Bulldog, he has a few age-related conditions: • Spinal Issues (IVDD): Managed with medication, crate rest, and non-surgical therapies such as acupuncture or chiropractic treatments. • Allergies: He is on a salmon-based diet and supplements (hip and joint supplements, probiotics) to keep him feeling his best. • Eyes: One of Buddy’s eyes is slightly cloudy due to a repaired ulcer, but it doesn’t affect his quality of life. • Mobility: He walks on all fours and is not incontinent. Continued care, like therapy and a safe home layout, will help him thrive. Personality: Buddy is a true introvert who loves peace and quiet. He’s not one for rough housing but adores cheek and ear scratches. His quirky bark—part talk, part Frenchie charm—is sure to make you laugh. He may not be the life of the party, but he’s the perfect companion for someone who values quiet moments and a loving presence. He loves to go for short walks, but we always advise to not let strangers pet. Buddy has plenty of life and love left to share. With his foster family’s care, he’s been thriving, and we’re confident he can continue living a happy, comfortable life with the right adopter. This guy needs a home to live out the rest of his golden years quietly with a couch potato. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion to share your days with, Buddy might just be your perfect match! He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Adoption donation fee $950.00, please apply for Buddy on our website, freedomfrenchierescue.org, located in Mesa, AZ (pending foster).

Meet Westin The Spicy Football, Looking for His Forever Home! Westin is a 7.5 to 8 year-old, 18-pound French Bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger heart once you earn his trust. His journey has been nothing short of heartbreaking. After his owner passed away, Westin was surrendered to Long Beach Animal Shelter, where he struggled to adjust. Can you imagine how terrified he was? From a familiar home to a loud, unfamiliar shelter, surrounded by strangers it was overwhelming for him. Westin’s Journey Westin was extremely guarded and fearful at the shelter, allowing only one employee near him. When we picked him up, he refused to be handled, so he was carefully crated for transport. Once we arrived at our hotel, we gave him space with no pressure, and zero expectations, just time to decompress. Slowly, we watched his walls come down. He was great with the other dog we had with us. He chose to engage on his own terms. He took treats and even climbed onto Mo’s lap, but not without some growling! Westin has continued to make progress, though he remains independent and strong-willed. He mostly keeps to himself, preferring to observe rather than actively engage with other dogs. He is warming up though!! His favorite spot? Right next to Mo, watching the playful chaos unfold. Whether she is at her desk, her living room floor with others, or washing dishes, Westin is under her feet along three other foster siblings. His age does not fit his energy or personality. Westin’s Perfect Home Westin is not your typical cuddly Frenchie he’s an old soul who values his space. As like us adults the order we get the more we just love having our own space in this busy day to day world. He needs a patient, understanding adopter who will respect his boundaries and allow him to adjust at his own pace. Westin loves: Sunbathing. Occasionally playing with toys. Treats are his love language! Baths & wrinkle cleaning (if done gently). What to Expect: He will growl and possibly nip at first, this is his way of setting boundaries. He requires the 3-3-3 rule (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to adjust, 3 months to feel at home). Westin is not a fan of being picked up, only Mo and sometimes her son can do it. Now she carries him around like the little football he is! So do not have an expectation to pick him up for a few days. Also do not expect to have the meet and greet goes as you plan. You can’t judge this guy and how he will be in the future the first time you meet him. You must be able to jump in with both feet for Westin and trust the process. If you want more information on that, please watch his video on social media as it has taken two weeks to get where he is today with Mo and her family. If you are impatient and live in the me now world, he is not for you. No children under 13 years of age unless you are experienced with rescue frenchie’s. Medical: Westin has a sway in his walk and some back leg tremors, but he manages well with daily Gabapentin, joint supplements, and probiotics. His ears require regular cleaning, but as long as you go slow, he tolerates it well. Is your home the one for Westin! Westin needs an experienced, patient adopter willing to give him the time and space he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will be your best friend once he learns to trust you, he might just be your perfect match. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, Westins adoption donation fee is $975.00. Apply to adopt Westin at freedomfrenchierescue.org! He will get a final vet check during his adoption process. Meet Astra: A Story of Resilience and Love. Astra is a six year-old French Bulldog mix with a heart full of joy and a spirit that has triumphed over unimaginable challenges. Rescued from a Southern California shelter, Astra’s journey began in hardship. She was covered in mange, with almost no hair, and her ears were in terrible condition, showing the effects of years of neglect and abuse. Her cropped ears had large masses that required significant surgery to improve her quality of life. After undergoing TECA surgery, which successfully removed the masses, Astra now has small nubs for ears and poor to no hearing. Despite everything she has been through, Astra is a testament to resilience, living a happy and vibrant life. Her mange has been treated, and her coat is slowly growing back, revealing a unique and beautiful dog who shines brighter than ever. Astra is a joy to be around—she’s excellent on a leash, rides well in the car, is crate trained and loves going for walks. She is the perfect companion for a relaxing day watching football or trying out new snacks, which she absolutely loves. Astra is also an incredible fetch player, delighting everyone with her unique trick of throwing the ball herself. She has a calm, affectionate personality and is gentle with everyone she meets, both people and other dogs. While she may not hear you calling her name, Astra communicates her love in other ways—her body wiggling with excitement and her face lighting up whenever she sees her favorite people. Astra would thrive in a calm home with someone who values companionship and affection. Her gentle soul and loving nature make her an extraordinary dog, though she is often overlooked because of her unique appearance. Astra is proof that beauty comes in many forms, and she is ready to show her forever family just how perfect she truly is. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted, joyful companion who will bring warmth and love to your life, Astra is waiting to meet you. Don’t miss the chance to welcome this special girl into your home and heart. Astra is currently being fostered in Scottsdale. She’s vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and ready to start the next chapter of her life. Her adoption donation fee is $800. Please apply on our website to give Astra the loving home she’s been dreaming of!

Meet Percy – The Gentle Soul Looking for Love! Percy joined the Freedom Frenchie Rescue squad from a Southern California shelter, where he was found as a stray with wounds on his neck and cheek. This brave little guy underwent surgery to treat an abscess and spent time recovering from a severe upper respiratory infection. Despite everything he’s been through, Percy is healing well and slowly learning to trust again. Personality Tinks: At just 21 pounds, Percy is a compact, solid little guy with a calm and gentle nature. He enjoys lounging outside in the sun or shade and will let you know when he’s ready to come back inside. He listens well, doesn’t mind being in his crate, and has the most adorable gurgly howl when he wants attention or needs to go outside. Percy is still overcoming the emotional scars of his past. He crouches low when approached and becomes stiff when picked up, but each day, he makes small steps toward trust. His foster mom says his dark, soulful eyes reflect his innocence and sweetness. Because energy is everything for Percy, his ideal home must be a positive, uplifting environment where he feels safe. Foster Pupdate: Percy is quiet unless he needs something he likes to just chill on his own and watch all the other fosters. He loves to lay in the morning sun and enjoys listening to the birds. We introduced him to yak bones, and he really enjoys them. We are still learning about him as he is still learning about us, but he is starting to understand his schedule and he is being vocal about having to go out and go potty. Behavior Spotlight: While he shows zero aggression, Percy does resource guard his food when eating in his crate. However, with proper guidance, he does well when eating around other dogs. He absolutely loves food and treats, which can be a great motivator as he continues to gain confidence. Home Needs: Percy needs a patient and loving home that will help him blossom into the happy, secure pup he was always meant to be. If you’re ready to give this gentle soul a second chance, apply to adopt Percy today! He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered you can apply for Percy on our website at freedomfrenchierescue.org. Story
Meet FiFi Sassafrass! FiFi is a 2-year-old French Bulldog with a stunning lilac merle coat and the most precious, expressive eyes. She was found as a stray and brought into the Freedom Squad when her owner never came for her. Despite her rough start, FiFi has blossomed into a funny, spicy, and affectionate little lady who is ready to find her forever home. Personality Quirks: This girl is full of personality! She absolutely loves people and will be your little shadow, following you from room to room. She thrives on attention and enjoys being the center of your world. While she is still learning how to interact with other dogs, she has a great time playing with the younger foster siblings in her current home. However, she does resource guard her toys and food, which is common in rescue Frenchie’s. To help her feel secure, she eats in her crate, and we are slowly teaching her that she is safe and doesn’t need to guard her things. With time, confidence, and trust in humans, this behavior can improve. Training Adventures: FiFi is crate trained and sees her crate as a safe space where she can relax. She is mostly potty trained, never having poop accidents in her crate, and only very rarely having a pee accident overnight. She is also doing well with her leash training, although she gets excited and may pull—she just loves going on adventures! This girl is talkative and full of silly sounds and conversations, making every moment with her entertaining. Medical Needs: Medically, FiFi has no major concerns, but her body structure is unique. She has a compact frame with long legs, and her back legs are slightly taller than usual. While she currently shows no signs of IVDD, it is something to be mindful of as she ages. Preventing her from jumping off furniture and providing daily joint supplements will help keep her strong and healthy. She was recently spayed, which should help balance her hormones. She does have one funny habit—sometimes, she self-entertains (if you know, you know). It’s not an ongoing issue, and with her recent spay, it should fade over time. It’s hard not to laugh, but it’s something to redirect when needed! Transition Life: FiFi would do best in a home that understands the 3-3-3 rule—three days to decompress, three weeks to learn the routine, and three months to fully settle in. If you already have a dog, patience will be key in teaching them both that sharing is caring. She would love a mix of adventure and cuddle time, whether that means strolling through the farmer’s market or snuggling up on the couch. This little girl is an absolute joy, bringing love, laughter, and personality into every room she enters. If you’re looking for a Frenchie who will make you smile every single day, FiFi is ready to be your new best friend. Apply to adopt FiFi today on our website freedomfrenchierescue.org, please check out our adoption process! She is vaccinated, microchipped, and spay her adoption donation fee is $1050.00

Story
Meet Paris not from France. Paris joined the Freedom Squad after being rescued from the Arizona Humane Society. She was brought in as a stray, suffering from a prolapsed rectum and severe diarrhea. After undergoing surgery, she’s been making a fantastic recovery! Now, we are focused on managing her diet to keep her tummy happy. She’s currently on a high-protein hydrolyzed prescription diet and receiving probiotics to help firm up her stool. Potty Training & Daily Life Paris is mostly potty trained and does her best to let her humans know when she needs to go out. The only times she has accidents in her crate is when it’s uncontrollable, but she does her best to communicate! One thing Paris is absolutely obsessed with? Sunbathing! This girl is acting like she is on the beach in the south of France. She is the queen of soaking up the sun, loving her time on her elevated outdoor bed, rolling around and squinting into the sunlight like she’s having a spiritual moment with the universe. She enjoys playing with her foster siblings, but she also makes sure to let them know when something isn’t going her way. Paris is still learning how to play with toys and is working on resource guarding, especially when it comes to food in her crate and possible toys. To ensure her comfort and safety, she eats in her crate like the other foster pups, but if another dog comes near while she’s eating, she lets them know she’s not a fan! Outside of the crate, she does wonderfully and enjoys chasing her foster siblings around, though she sometimes hesitates, trying to figure out her place in the fun. She is unsure when they are playing if it is fighting or playing and leans more towards aggressive behavior. Pack Life & Training Needs Paris is still learning how to navigate pack dynamics, so a slow transition into a home with another dog will be key. The 3-3-3 rule will apply to help her adjust successfully. She’s also working on understanding personal space with both dogs and humans, but she is absolutely soaking up the love! She enjoys cuddles, pets, and quality time on the couch watching Netflix with her people or settling in with the rest of the dogs when it’s time to wind down for the night. She is more dominant, but she is fresh to the rescue so once she starts settling in she will understand what it is like to be with a family that loves her. She will need persistence and guidance to do that. She will do best with a more submissive dog, (one dog family) or as an only dog. Medical Status Paris is medically sound, with no extreme health concerns aside from her ongoing digestive management. Since she recently switched to her new prescription diet, we are still monitoring her response, as food transitions take about 10 days. Getting her diarrhea under control will be the key to her long-term success. Her prolapse has healed and she is doing great, and shows no signs of it reversing. Paris is looking for a loving home that will continue to support her journey! If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this sun-loving, ball-chasing, cuddle-craving girl, apply to adopt Paris at freedomfrenchierescue.org. She is vaccinated, microchipped and spay, her adoption donation fee is $1000.00, located in Mesa, AZ
