Story
Frances is a 5 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 38lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Meet Frances, a Boston Terrier mix! Frances fought for survival after being abandoned, leaving her a victim of heartworm disease and severe dehydration. Frances persevered through her treatment and is now happy and healthy, with the assistance of renal care food and a supplement. She is heartworm negative and will need to be kept on monthly heartworm prevention. She takes daily medication for "night wetting", but she doesn't have any issues as long as she takes her medication. Frances enjoys being outside exploring and going on walks. When she's inside, she loves chewing on Nylabones and snoring on the couch. She is potty trained and crate trained. Frances will be a terrific companion for a female owner and in a home with no young children. She gets along with other dogs her size, but her relationship with cats is unknown. If you would like to give Frances her forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $350. She is being fostered in Lebanon, TN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com. Story
Sunny is a 1.5 year old Boston Terrier mix that weighs about 30lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Meet Sunny, a Boston terrier mix (we think Jack Russell Terrier mix maybe?)! Although the two breeds usually equal super high energy, Sunny is the perfect combination of playful and couch potato. She LOVES to play with toys, sticks and stuffies, and gets the zoomies but also is happy to snuggle up and sleep for hours on end  She mirrors your energy level, but loves to be active! Below are some highlights of sweet girl Sunny…  Crate trained (happy to sleep in her crate or in bed with foster mom)  Potty trained + doggie door trained  Great with kids! Loves being their sidekick. She would love a family of her own to play with!  Loves car rides and is a perfect passenger princess   Great on a leash and loves long walks/hikes  Calm during bath time and thunderstorms (also no fear with the vacuum!)  LOVES to shred a stuffie! She makes a total mess, but never eats any of it. She is always proud of her artwork after destruction   Very gentle treat taker  Affectionate and loves to give you lots of kisses! She also loves to cuddle up and take naps.   Loves to play fetch with toys and a good stick (working on “drop it”) - she is very athletic!   Knows “sit”, “stay”, “down” and getting better at “come”  Affection motivated, not so much treat motivated   Can jump high! Cleared a baby gate with ease, but has not yet attempted a 4 foot fence   Has the CUTEST underbite, big pointy ears, polka dots and short squiggly tail!  Is a velcro/shadow dog and loves to just be with her people   While playful and friendly towards other dogs, her ideal home would be as the only dog, as her play style isn’t for everyone. A home with a more submisive dog that doesnt mind Sunny's rough play might work! If you would like to give Sunny her forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $375. She is being fostered in Indianapolis, IN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com. Story
Duke is a 4 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 25lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Duke came into rescue from an abandonment and abusive situation. Because of that, he has triggers, so it is essential we find him the right home where he can thrive. He can become triggered when someone messes with his neck, like to put on a leash or harness. His foster mom has made lots of progress with him, teaching him that leashes/harnesses are associated with positive things like walks and treats, but his adopter will have to understand that it may take lots of patience and understanding to gain Duke's trust. A fenced in yard would be great for Duke, so he doesn't have to be leashed daily. Because Duke is slow to trust, vet visiits are not one of his favorites. Duke seems to favor women over men, so he would likely do best in a home with only females. Otherwise, it could take Duke quite some time to acclimate to a male in the home. Because Duke was abandoned and likely didnt have access to food for a prolonged period of time, he can be aggressive when it comes to food. Because of this, Duke needs to be the only pet in the home and in a home without children. Duke is such a handsome boy, and once he warms up to you, he is a such a fun dog with the perfect amount of energy. He can be playful and silly, but also enjoys downtime and long naps. He loves to snuggle under the covers, play with his toys(especially his dinosaur), car rides, and going for walks. He loves to be with people. He is crate trained. Duke continues to make progress everyday, and we want an adopter for him that is willing to commit to him, be mindful and underdstanding of things that trigger him, and give him the good life he deserves!  If you would like to give Duke his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $350. He is being fostered in Memphis, TN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com.
