Meet Ace! Somehow, this sweet boy has found himself back where his story started. Ace was adopted from us a few years ago as a puppy, but unfortunately, his owner was moving and could no longer keep him. So Ace returned to MHS, ready to start the next chapter of his life. When Ace arrived, he was covered in fleas and had developed a skin issue as a result. But our team immediately jumped into action! We got those pesky fleas taken care of and started Ace on a treatment plan to help his skin feel healthy and comfortable again. We think Ace may be a Boxer mix, but honestly... your guess is as good as ours! What we do know is that he's a sweet, handsome boy who is ready to put the past behind him and find the family he's been waiting for. Ace is a little over 2 years old, weighs around 40 pounds, and is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. My dog, Meeka, was born in 2019. She has a big personality and is very loving. She loves playing with my neighbor’s dogs and tries to get in the UPS people’s trucks every chance she can! She loves the indoors and prefers it but, has been an outside dog for a lot of her life. She’s an amazing, obedient, funny, and loving girl. She grew up around kids and understands we be nice to little people! She is very protective vocally but, she will just lick you once you get up on her! She loves blankets and sitting in chairs.
