Story
Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets. Meet Popper, a lively 4‑month‑old male Terrier mix (possibly Boxer) who’s bursting with personality. This handsome tan pup sports adorable, expressive ears and a very unusual tail that makes him truly one of a kind. Popper is expected to grow into a medium sized adult dog. Popper is extremely active and playful, always ready for a game, a romp, or a full‑speed case of the zoomies. Because of that, he’ll do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely burn off his puppy energy. He’s social and friendly, does well with other dogs, and would be a great match for a family with older children who can keep up with his enthusiasm. If you’re looking for a fun‑loving, high‑energy pup who will grow into a big, joyful companion, Popper is ready to bounce his way into your heart. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****May 15, 2026, 8:59 am

Bam Bam is a three-year-old terrier mix that was running in the street near a shopping mall. With lots of traffic driving by a kind person saw him and was able to get him into his car. The kind rescuer drove straight to the shelter. Bam Bam was never claimed by his family so the shelter got him ready to meet some new folks! Story
Sweet Coco is one sweet cutie pie! She was picked up by one of our kind Humane Officers when we received a call about a dog living in an empty house along with some homeless people. Ownership was never really established and it was decided that Coco would be better off in the shelter where she could get regular meals, a comfy bed, and she was safe from the “streets” and the weather! No one ever came to claim Coco so she is now available for adoption. Coco has all of her vaccinations, she is heartworm negative, she has a microchip, and she has been spayed. Coco would love some stability in her living situation. She has a ton of love to give to her new family.

Story
Sandy is a pretty girl that hopes to be in her new home soon. She was reported to the shelter because she kept climbing her neighbor’s fence and hanging out in her yard. Well that wasn’t working out well for the neighbor, so she called the shelter for some help. Sandy was picked up and brought to the MHS to wait for her owner. Her owner never claimed her so she is now available for adoption. Sandy has all of her vaccinations, she has a microchip, and she has been spayed. One little problem did show up on her health check up. She is heartworm positive. She isn’t worried though because her treatment has already been set up and she is ready to get started. Can she come stay with you while she has her treatment?
