Story
Soji (A137043) is a 2-year-old Boxer x Pitbull mix who weighed 65.8 pounds on intake! 08/18/26 Soji, previously known as Unity, was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of her own. A sudden passing in her family led to moving into an apartment that didn't allow pit mixes. Even though Soji is a very good girl! But she is resilient and is once again looking for a family to love and snuggle with! Soji is known to be housebroken (can use potty pads), affectionate, outgoing and friendly. She does well with people of all ages, though she may bulldoze a smaller child in her excitement. She loves cats and dogs but is a little too curious about livestock and pocket pets and is known to chase them. She knows the commands `Outside` and `Go Bye Bye` and was said to do well in the car. Soji also likes to chew! She does well with nylon bones but can shatter regular bones which can be dangerous. She also likes to try and eat squeakers out of fabric toys so they avoided them completely in her previous home. Though she loves other dogs sometimes she can come on strong and will chase them too. As with all new relationships it is highly recommended that you do slow and controlled introductions with her leashed. Soji also likes to eat other animals food out of their bowls while they aren't looking, so make sure to feed her separately. If Soji sounds like your kinda girl, please give the shelter a call!01/02/25 This shy but sweet girl is Unity! Unity can be a little timid at first warms up quickly to new people! She was said to have previously done great with children and adults! In her last home Unity was also said to have done well with other dogs and cats. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new friends to set her up for success! We did find at the shelter that she has seemed to become hyperfixated on smaller dogs in kennels near by. Unity was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in a car. She would benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and build up her confidence! She was said to generally mind well! Unity did arrive at the shelter underweight but has had a healthy appetite and is slowly putting weight back on! She was also diagnosed with a heart murmur and courtesy of the amazing shelter fund was sent out for a heart workup! If you are interested in meeting Unity, please let us know! Story
Che’Lu (A136945) is a 2-year-old Pitbull who weighed 65.7 pounds on intake! 08/19/26 Mister Che'Lu is back at the shelter after a brief adoption because he was struggling to master potty training. Che'Lu would benefit from a structured routine and a patient owner that understands accidents happen. Che'Lu was also intact up until a few months ago, and likely developed a marking habit during that time. In his most recent home, Che'Lu lived with a female dog of similar size and age and was said to have done well with her. If you are interested in meeting Che'Lu, please give us a call!Update from Che'Lu's previous owner: Che'lu means brother in Chamorro (Guam). Che'lu is a very sweet dog that just needs more love and someone to play with him/spend time with him. He's not been around children, when we would go to the dog park he submits to other dogs. He loves to run and when he does he prances. He is potty trained; he rings the bell on the door when he wants to go out. He knows sit and come.06/17/26 This energetic guy is Che’Lu! Che’Lu arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! He does have a previous bite on his record from when he was a puppy and was a little overexcited during playtime. He is still a young dog and can be mouthy when overstimulated. We encourage his next owner to bring him to basic obedience class to continue working on his manners and learn a trick or two. Che’Lu has a history of being at large, and his finders have always stated that he is friendly and just wants to play. However, it is important that his next owner keep him safely contained when outdoors – on a leash, in a secure tie-out, or supervised in a fenced yard. While at the shelter, Che’Lu has done well at keeping his kennel clean/accident-free indicating that he may be potty trained. Please keep in mind that there is always an adjust period as he settles into his new home and routine. We do not know Che’Lu’s experience level around children or other animals so please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new potential friends. If you are interested in meeting Che’Lu, please let us know! August 20, 2026, 11:50 pm

Story
Electra (A142151) is a 10-month-old Lab x Pitbull mix who weighed 64.3 pounds on intake! 08/13/26 This exuberant pup is Electra! Electra was surrendered to the shelter and is looking for her new home. She is a young girl with a lot of energy and looking for some stability and guidance in her life. She is a very sweet girl, but does not always understand her size. She was known to be a bit like a bowling ball when small children get in her path. However, she was said to be nice to kiddos, but will knock them down accidentally. She was also said to do well with strangers and adults, but will jump up. Electra was said to do well with other dogs, but did have one little scuffle when rotisserie chicken was involved. Please keep this in mind if you are feeding high-value food items. She was said to like to chase after the cat and play a bit too roughly. Most cats would probably not appreciate her enthusiasm. Electra is still working on her basic commands and potty training. She is looking for a patient owner who will continue working with her. Electra was said to ride well in a car and know the command sit (especially when treats are involved)! They did find that Electra can jump 4ft fences, but did not think she would be able to make it over a 5-foot fence. She should be supervised when in a fenced-in yard. If you are interested in meeting Electra, please let us know! August 20, 2026, 11:50 pm
