Story
River (A142322) is a 2-year-old Pitbull mix who weighed 66.6 pounds on intake! 05/28/26 This is River! River was surrendered to the shelter due to a family emergency, not his own fault. River was born in their home and has not met many new people in his life. We encourage his next owner to work with a certified trainer to continue building his confidence and to learn a trick or two! He was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dog in the home. He was said to love his head being rubbed and finds his kennel to be his safe place! River was also noted to be kennel trained and to ride well in a car! River is a young boy and can be mischievous at times like jumping on the counters and getting into the trash when unsupervised. Providing him with plenty of mental and physical stimulation is important. If you are interested in meeting River, please let us know! June 6, 2026, 11:10 pm

Story
Cece (A126120) is a 4-year-old Pitbull x Lab who weighed 45.6 pounds on intake! 04/28/26 Cece was surrendered to the shelter due to her needing medical care. She was seen by the shelter vet and started on an appropriate treatment plan. While she gets the help she needs, Cece has been spending time in a wonderful foster home. In foster, it was noted that Cece is a bit too interested in the cats. She had no experience in her surrendering home with cats and would most like do best in a home without feline companions. Cece was said to do well with other dogs and loves to play! She was also said to get along with people of all ages, including babies and children. However, it was noted that she likes to jump on people. Cece was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and knows her basic commands. She also rides well in a car! Cece’s surrendering owner stated that when left alone it was brought to her attention that Cece barked frequently when left in the apartment by herself. This is something to be aware of if you live in close proximity to your neighbors. Cece is a sweet girl who was said to be happy all the time, and would like to find her new place to call home. If you are interested in meeting Cece, please let us know! 03/11/22 Cece was surrendered to the shelter because her owner didn't have enough time to devote to her training and care. Cece's owner stated that she is a very good pup, although she doesn't always know her strength or boundaries and while she enjoys playing with babies, children, adults and other dogs, she can be a bit rough and overbearing. Cece would likely benefit from some structured supervision with other well mannered adult dogs, so she can start modeling her own appropriate behavior off of theirs. She should definitely attend a basic obedience class with her new family to foster those good girl tendencies! Cece has never been around cats, little critters or livestock, and may do best in a home without smaller animals due to her rough play. Cece is said to be kennel trained; her owner said she will whine and go to the door when she needs to potty, but may need help finishing off her housebreaking in normal puppy fashion. Cece is said to ride well in a car, and is generally outgoing and friendly. She can get into a bit of trouble jumping on people, getting into garbage and chewing, but all of those are very normal puppy behaviors and can be modified with positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviors and gentle redirections. Cece is a cutie patootie of a beauty, if you are ready to roll with this girl, call the shelter today!June 6, 2026, 11:10 pm

Story
Willie (A139206) is a 1 year-3-month-old Lab x Pitbull mix who weighed 60.6 pounds on intake! 05/02/26 Willie has found himself back at the shelter due to his most recent owner feeling as they were unable to give him proper exercise due to their own personal issues. Willie was said to be a smart dog who may be a little shy upon first meeting but warms up quickly. He was said to be house broken and will even ring a bell to request to go outside. He was also said to know basic commands and plays gentle. He was also said to be playful with other dogs he has met! Please always ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new animals to help set him up for success. If you are interested in meeting Willie, please let us know! 08/04/25 This goofy young pup is Willie! Willie was surrendered to the shelter after his owner fell on hard times. We unfortunately do not have any behavioral information on Willie. At the shelter, he has been a bundle of joy and excitement! He is looking for an owner who can keep him both mentally and physically stimulated and out of trouble! Willie would also benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners and to learn a trick or two! We do not know if Willie has experience with children or other animals. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new potential friends to help set him up for success! If you are interested in meeting Willie, please let us know! June 6, 2026, 11:10 pm
