Story
Connie (A134243) is a 5-year-old Pit Bull who weighed 60.4 pounds on intake! 06/27/26 Miss Connie is back after an overnight adoption because she was very determined to chase the cats in her most recent home. For this reason, we highly recommend she go to a home without cats. If you are interested in meeting Connie, please give us a call!06/23/26 Connie, previously known as Coney, is back at the shelter due to no fault of her own. Sadly, her last owner was moving into a residence that does not allow pets. She was described as an outgoing and friendly dog. Historically, she has done well with babies and children, but was known to bark at strangers initially but quickly warms up! She was also said to do well with other dogs once appropriate introductions were made. While in their care, Connie was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows her basic commands. Connie is quite overweight and we encourage her next owner to work with their vet on helping Connie shed a few pounds. If you are interested in meeting Connie, please let us know! 08/30/24 Coney, previously known as DeeDee, was brought back to the shelter because she had become destructive when bored. Coney was described as being a very loving and sweet dog who got along with children, strangers, other dogs and even cats in her previous home. Coney was said to know some basic commands such as sit, come, stay, kennel, and paw! Enrolling her in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great way to round out her training and manners and is likely to help with managing her destructive habits. Providing plenty of physical and mental enrichment and appropriate chew toys will also help! This will also help with her chewing and digging habits! Coney was said to ride well in the car and to be housebroken and kennel trained. she will whine to let you know she needs to go out! This outgoing, friendly and affectionate girl was said to be gentle when playing and quite the little lovebug! If you are interested in meeting Miss Coney, please let us know!04/18/24 Delightful DeeDee is eager to find her new home after arriving at the shelter as a stray. Since she was a stray, we do not know if she has a history with children or other animals. On intake, she was the biggest sweetheart, and her personality has continued to shine! She was initially uncertain of her doggy neighbors but now appears indifferent. Please ensure you do slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new friends! DeeDee has been very tidy at the shelter and we think she may already be housebroken! However, she may need some reminders as she settles into her new home. We also encourage her new owner to bring her to a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners and to learn a trick or two! We would love to help DeeDee find her new person to love! If you are interested in meeting DeeDee, please let us know! June 27, 2026, 11:53 pm

Story
Che’Lu (A136945) is a 1-year-and-11-month-old Pitbull who weighed 67.4 pounds on intake! Update from Che'Lu's previous owner: Che'lu means brother in Chamorro (Guam). Che'lu is a very sweet dog that just needs more love and someone to play with him/spend time with him. He's not been around children, when we would go to the dog park he submits to other dogs. He loves to run and when he does he prances. He is potty trained; he rings the bell on the door when he wants to go out. He knows sit and come.06/17/26 This energetic guy is Che’Lu! Che’Lu arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! He does have a previous bite on his record from when he was a puppy and was a little overexcited during playtime. He is still a young dog and can be mouthy when overstimulated. We encourage his next owner to bring him to basic obedience class to continue working on his manners and learn a trick or two. Che’Lu has a history of being at large, and his finders have always stated that he is friendly and just wants to play. However, it is important that his next owner keep him safely contained when outdoors – on a leash, in a secure tie-out, or supervised in a fenced yard. While at the shelter, Che’Lu has done well at keeping his kennel clean/accident-free indicating that he may be potty trained. Please keep in mind that there is always an adjust period as he settles into his new home and routine. We do not know Che’Lu’s experience level around children or other animals so please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new potential friends. If you are interested in meeting Che’Lu, please let us know! June 27, 2026, 11:53 pm

Story
Nala (A142495) is a 7-month-old pit mix who weighed nearly 40 lbs at intake!06/13/26 This super sweet and affectionate little lady is Nala! Nala was brought to the shelter after she sustained injuries from jumping out of the back of a pickup truck. She was sent to the vet and given medciation, and now she is ready to find her new forever home! During her veterinary ordeal, Nala has been an absolute love to everyone she has interacted with! She was said to do well with all humans. She will bark at other dogs until a proper introduction is done. However, it is best she goes to a home without cats because she likes to chase them! Miss Nala knows how to sit, but she could benefit from learning other commands and manners. She would likely do great in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer! She is a young dog that will need help with becoming fully potty trained. She was, however, said to be kennel trained. She has been known to get into the trash when given the chance, and she can be vocal at time. She absolutely loves attention and will crawl right into your lap, asking for it! If you are interested in meeting Miss Nala, please give the shelter a call!June 27, 2026, 11:53 pm
