Story
Lola (A140744) is a 4-year-old Pitbull x Lab who weighed 33.4 pounds on intake! 01/01/26 This little lady is Lola! Lola was surrendered to the shelter because her owner felt that she deserved a home that could devote more time to her. Lola was said to be afraid of men, but would warm up to them with time. She was said to LOVE babies and children and was said to be very gentle. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new people to help Lola feel most at ease. She was also said to do great with dogs and cats. Slow, safe, and controlled introductions are key to success. Lola was stated to know her basic commands and to generally mind well. She was also said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in a car. However, it was noted that she may have the occasional accident and was known to get into anything and everything if left home alone (not in a kennel). Lola has been very sweet while at the shelter but is more reserved. If you are interested in meeting Lola, please let us know! January 2, 2026, 4:05 pm

Story
Xena (A139572) is a 2-year-old pit mix who weighed almost 50 lbs at intake!01/02/26 This sassy little lady is Xena! Xena arrived back at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her new place to call home! While at the shelter this go around, she has been very spirited and quite the talker. Xena is always eager to greet the staff, but still lacks some basic manners. We encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners. She has also had a few accidents in her kennel, so she may need some continued reminders with potty training as she settles into her new home and routine. It was previously noted that she did well with cats and dogs in her foster home back in September, but that she was a little pushy with the other dog. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new animals. If you are interested in meeting Xena, please let us know! 09/18/25 This adorable young lady is Xena! Xena arrived at the shelter with her litter of eight puppies when they were just 6-weeks-old. She has spent the last couple weeks in foster with them and is now ready to spread her wings and live her own life! While in foster, Xena was said to have done well with the cats and the other dogs. However, Xena would sometimes get a little bossy towards the other dogs, which is a little rude since it was his house. Xena does not have very good doggy manners. She comes off very strong, and is not good at reading the room. She actually gets very excited about seeing other dogs, so excited that she barks with her hackles up. When she actually gets to meet them, she can be very `in your face.` It will be most important to do slow introductions with miss Xena. If she were a human, she would be yelling `Hey! Hey, you!` from afar and then hugging you and kissing your cheeks once you were closer. It's a little much. She was said to do well with potty training for the most part, but did have a few accidents, so she may need some reminders. Xena was described as a very playful girl, who loved the kids in her foster home as well! If you are interested in meeting this young lady, please give the shelter a call!January 2, 2026, 8:55 pm
