Story
This big guy is seeking a home for his next great adventure. This kind guy may sometimes choose his space. He is interested in new environments but over time he does choose to solicit attention more. He may just need a bit of time to decide if he wants to be fussed over or if just being near his people is his current vibe. He already knows some skills that will help with his future training. He is a guy who can be a bit independant at times. He will need an home with adults or older kids (potentially 12 years or older) but he is ready to meet his new family soon. Size: Medium 32 kg / 70 lbs Children: Older children may do okay, ages 12 years or older please. Cats: Slow introductions reccomended. Dogs: May do best with dogs of similar size and playstyle

At home, Rafa enjoys taking long naps in the sun, watching TV, and hanging out with his family. Rafa is fully house-trained, but he`s still working on leash manners! After all, he`s still young at heart and walks are EXCITING! Rafa is not a fan of other animals and would like to be your one and only. Rafa does have some health information to be aware of - the adoptions team can tell you more when you meet him! **Lola is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Lola is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.Meet our loveable Lola! Lola came to Calgary Humane Society through no fault of her own, and we quickly realized that shelter life was much too overwhelming for her. Because of this, she headed right to a foster home, and that`s where her personality truly began to shine! While she may need a few moments to warm up to new people, you will almost immediately find out that she is an incredibly affectionate, people-loving dog. If you`re sitting down or laying down, don`t be surprised when the full weight of her body presses down on you for snuggles - she loves getting as close to her humans as possible! When she`s not soaking up cuddles, Lola enjoys a good game of tug-of-war, the occasional burst of zoomies, and long sessions of sunbathing. She`s also got the classic `Pittie scream`, and while it may sound alarming at first, it`s just her way of expressing her happy emotions. Lola is currently learning new commands and skills in foster care and has already made lots of progress with her leash reactivity around other dogs and prey animals on walks. Keeping up with positive reinforcement training will have Lola looking like a loose-leash champ! She is a very eager learner and picks up new words, commands and skills with ease. But at the end of the day, her favorite thing is simply being with her people.Lola is currently best suited to a home where she is the only dog, but with time and training, she may have potential for dog friends in the future. We`re not sure how she`d do with cats or small animals in a home setting, and due to her prey drive on walks, introductions to smaller critters need to be very slow and supervised. Kids are also an unknown, but there should always be a supervising adult!Think Lola could be your perfect companion? Fill out the Adopt from Foster (AFF) form today!Lola is:- unknown with kids, supervised interactions required- unknown with cats, has prey drive on walks, slow intros required- no dogs in home
